ELI5: Why does cake still feel warm after being in the refrigerator? explainlikeimfive

I have had a piece of birthday cake in the refrigerator since Thursday. When I took a bite of it it doesn't feel cold at all. What's going on?

The glass of milk I poured to go with it is nice and chilled, but the cake that was sitting beside the milk container doesn't feel cold.
