Kenmore Refrigerator Making Loud Noise But Keeping Things Cold appliancerepair

I can't give you a date on the year, but it is a pretty old model (at least 10 years). It was a hand me down from a sister and before that from a mother in law. Originally the problem was a constant leak coming from the ice maker and was solved by removing the water line. Ice tend to keep in the freezer section and the refrigerator has always kept things cold, but a layer of ice has also formed at the very bottom of the freezer (Perhaps it is from melted ice that won't stay in the ice maker tray; this layer has also been removed, but has come back).

The current problem I am having is a loud rattling noise that seems to be coming from outside or behind the refrigerator. The rattling occurs between every 10-45 minutes and last for a solid 15 seconds. I don't want to believe it is the compressor though, since there is a perfectly fine gallon of ice cream and ice tray staying frozen. Some places have suggested it could be the condenser fan or the evaporator fan, but a specialized answer would be more comforting.
