The correct way to spell it is "refrigerator", yet I always spell it "refridgerator". I never really paid attention to the difference, and would always just right click the red squigly and let computers fix it for me.
Today, however, I finally realized the problem. When you abreviate it, you spell it "fridge", with the letter d, despite the fact that there is no d in the actual word (insert dick jokes here). It's in the abreviation because "frige" looks like it's pronounced "fryje" or "fry-gee" or something.
Hopefully moving forward with my life I can start to spell it correctly, but to be honest "refridgerator" still looks more correct to me than "refrigerator".
