Preparing a whole Ham to eat in portions? AskCulinary

Hello,

I recently became the proud owner of a Hardwood Smoked - Our Family - Spiral Bone-In Ham (picture: http://ift.tt/1OrSNOX ) and have several questions about it. The Ham is currently in my refrigerator and weights 11.5 lbs.

  • How can I best divide it into several portions that I can freeze and reheat when needed. Divide first, then cook or cook first, then divide? It seems like there is a bone inside, so dividing first would be kinda difficult. I'm thankful for any tips regarding this.
  • Is this ham pre-cut?
  • Is this ham pre-cooked?
  • What does spiral mean?
