LPT: If you're ordering something online and you're wary of having it left outside your house while you're away, have it shipped to your office. LifeProTips

Obviously keep it within a reasonable size (i.e. don't ship a refrigerator to your place of employment).

Most businesses still have mail rooms or shipping/receiving offices that receive items throughout the day and into the evenings. Your item(s) will be secure and, in many cases, delivered directly to your desk at some point in the day. Also, the mail room staff has no idea whether it's a personal item or business related, so that won't be an issue either.

I've done this numerous times throughout the years, at various employers, and it's worked flawlessly. This way I don't have to worry about my package sitting at my door in the open or having to take a day off to wait for a package.
