Ranked by the Japanese: No. 1 Beauty Products in Japan so far in 2016 AsianBeauty

Hi all! I usually lurk, get excited about everyone’s reviews, enjoy everyone’s humor, and throw upvotes around when I get the chance :)

I thought I’d contribute something by sharing my Japanese colleague’s translation about some cosme.net’s top ranking new Japanese products released in the first half of 2016! (They are ranked by user reviews.)

Products covered here
1) Top of the top! RMK Lip Jelly Gloss
2) Sunscreen Category No. 1! Anessa Essence UV Aqua Booster
3) Serum/Booster Category No. 1! Naturie Skin Conditioning Gel
4) Sheet Mask Category No. 1! Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask
5) Shampoo/Conditioner Category No. 1! Dear Beaute Oil in Shampoo/Conditioner

1) Top of the top! RMK Lip Jelly Gloss:
(photo for reference)
This gloss is the top reviewed product on cosme.net, coming out top of a total of 3,478 products! These 11 colours jelly gloss looks really nice to apply, as they have this juicy translucent look, and gives a bouncy appearance to the lips.

The 11 colors available are:
01 Sparkle Red
02 Romantic Pink
03 Baby Blue
04 Orange Pearl
05 Shiny Pink
06 Candy Pink
07 Coral Pink
08 Lavender
EX-01 Sparkling Ruby
EX-02 Sparkle Pink
EX-03 Vivid Pink

The Baby Blue is the most popular in Japan right now, among others in the same color range like bluish pink, lavender and violet. It’s a seldom seen color, and gives a nice laminated look.

2) Sunscreen Category No. 1! Anessa Essence UV Aqua Booster:
(photo for reference)
There are two items here, and the silver Anessa Essence took the number one spot (the gold one is number three!) Reviews praise it for being able to provide high UV protection and resistance towards water and sweat.

By the way, the difference between the gold and silver is that the silver Anessa Essence contains hyaluronic acid, and the gold one applies easily, and has been called “super waterproof”!

3) Serum/Booster Category No. 1! Naturie Skin Conditioning Gel
(photo for reference)
This is a adlay-based gel-type face lotion (some may know adlay as Job’s Tears), and it has gotten popular through reviews and recommendation (in fact, my colleague and I were at one of the Kyoto Matsumoto Kiyoshi, there were only five bottles left on the two shelves that were reserved for this product!)

Apparently adlay is used in traditional Chinese medicine, and is effective against acne, discoloration, freckles. It's good against aging too! It has a cooling feel, which makes it even better when stored in the refrigerator.

Another reason why it’s popular is how reviews say that when this lotion, when combined with Nivea cream, beautifies the skin!

4) Sheet Mask Category No. 1! Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask
(photo for reference)
I’m into design, so this package really got my eye. These masks are made of 100% Japanese rice. Reviews praise its thick sheets, the lotion has an elastic feel, and there are a lot of serum left over even after the sheets are used.

5) Shampoo/Conditioner Category No. 1! Dear Beaute Oil in Shampoo/Conditioner
(photo for reference)
Another beautifully designed packaging! It is said to be relatively cheap, has a great fragrance, and works as well as the professional shampoos in salons. And they look great in the bathroom for sure!

There are two colors in this series: the green for thin hair, the orange for thick hair.
