Bought our first home :) previous owner left damages :( concerned about our options. personalfinance

Hey everyone! As the title states my fiancé and I just purchased our first home (downtown studio loft) and we were/are very excited about it! After closing my SO and I excitedly rushed to the building to celebrate our new accomplishment and bask in the glory of our very own property but the issue came when we opened the door and were immediately struck with a foul smell. It turns out that at some point between the inspection and purchase someone had placed food, like multiple days worth of food, in the fridge and it had become rotten, not only releasing a smell no home owner wants to be greeted by when they open the front door but also creating a breeding ground for bugs to infest our refrigerator. We immediately contacted our realtor to figure out what our options were or if this was a normal occurrence but he didn't offer much solace other than agreeing it was downer and offering to contact the listing agent. We are confused and concerned because the seller agreed to leave all appliances behind and we did not expect to factor in the purchase of a new refrigerator before we'd even begun living in the unit.

Have any of you ever experienced this before? Do I have options when it comes to clean up or possible replacement of the refrigerator of it comes to it? We are both extremely reasonable and we understand there is a measure of age and wear that comes with a lived in home but this is beyond anything we imagined.
