How does temperature affect soda carbonation? askscience


It seems like when I open a room temperature soda it will go flat much faster. I also notice that when a can / bottle has only been in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour or so, when it is opened it will fizz more than normal. (Maybe because the temp of the liquid is uneven.) Any truth to this?
