This treat came together in just minutes, sat for the afternoon and was the perfect chocolate bite after dinner. These would be great for a dinner party when you want to make dessert ahead of time, as a chocolately delight for your Valentine or just for those nights when chocolate starts calling your name.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips 4 tablespoons sugar pinch salt 2/3 cup whole milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 eggs whites
Directions:
-
In a blender, combine chocolate chips, sugar and salt. Don’t turn it on yet…
-
In a small saucepan, gently heat the whole milk until hot but not boiling. While your milk is heating, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
-
Carefully pour hot milk into the blender and allow to sit for 2 minutes. Still don’t turn it on!
-
Ok, you can finally turn on the blender. Blend the chocolate milk mix until smooth. Add vanilla and blend for an additional 2 minutes.
-
Pour chocolate mixture into a mixing bowl and fold in egg whites.
-
Pour mixture into 3-4 small bowls or cups. Place bowls/cups into refrigerator to set.
-
Allow mousse to set for at least 4 hours. Top with whipped cream if you have it or just enjoy the chocolate delight!
