Hi NoSleep!
This is my first time posting here, I am a 16 years old boy and I want to tell you guys how my summer is going because so far ALOT of strange things are happening and I just can't keep it all to myself!
I am from New York and my parents and I are on holiday visiting my sick Aunt in London, England. At first I was excited to go because I hadn't gone abroad in years and really wanted to travel this summer since I had nothing better to do. Everything was fine and normal at the beginning when we left JFK Airport, while on the plane I asked my mom why we were going to see her sister "Apparently Candy is seriously not well and she lives all alone and she needs our support right now, I am all she's got since your Grandmother passed away" I was shocked that my aunt wasn't well, we never went to her house before, she always used to travel to us.
When we touched down at London city Airport the air was chilly for summer time my dad did warn me to bring winter clothes but I never listen to my parents! There was a smartly dressed bald man, dressed in a black suit and tie man holding our names; 'Paulet & Family'. My mother immediately recognized and we walked towards him, my father shook his hand "welcome to London, you must be Paulet's husband James". "Thank you! It's a pleasure to meet you too" my dad responded. We then followed the man into a black tinted window limo in the parking lot. I didn't think of my aunt as the type to be very wealthy, she never bragged nor did my mother ever tell me about it before.
The bald man began to put all our suitcases in to the trunk and told us to sit inside. We did as we were told, the inside was very fancy and had a glass of campaign, my mother was quick to notice it and pour a glass for herself and dad. since I wasn't allowed to drink alcohol I simply watched the view outside. London seemed very overcrowded packed with narrow streets and beautiful Victorian and Georgian houses.
I was told by the driver that we had reached the boarders of London to a small town called Surrey. This meant that it was mostly fields and farm land. When we arrived at aunt Candy's house it was amazing, the house was more like a mansion and massive hidden behind a forest of trees and secluded on its own plot, the house was three stories tall and covered in reddish brown old weathered brick. We was greeted by aunt Candy who stood waiting outside her doorstep of her mansion. We all gave her a hug and entered inside. We all sat in one of the living rooms, a huge wooden fireplace taller than me was burning violently and Aunt Candy sat close in her arm chair and covered herself further was a blanket.
"You didn't have to send your chauffeur to collect us from the airport, we could of easily taken a taxi" mom said. "No, I would of come myself if my health was in a better condition. So I asked Terry to collect you" Aunt Candy said.
"so that is his name Terry, he treated us very nicely" Dad replied. "That is good, Terry is all I have here, He is only Twenty but is very mature he brings me grocery, takes me to the hospital and even cleans up the house now that I have lost a lot of my energy "Aunt Candy began to cough and heavily started to breath for a few minutes until she calmed down. "Are you okay Candy? You seem so poorly, I am glad we came and we will look after you till you get better" Mum said.
Aunt Candy began to chuckle "You see I haven't called you all the way from New York to look after me. I have called you for my funeral"
There was a sudden moment of deep silence "what do you mean?" mom asked her face all tense.
"I only have a few weeks left Paulet" Aunt Candy lifted her arm to her head and removed the black wig she was wearing, revealing a dry white scalp.
My mom quickly ran to my aunt quickly and hugged her "why didn't you tell us sooner?" My aunt began to cry and so did my mom.
None of us felt like eating after hearing the news and we were still very tried from the trip so aunt Candy showed us to our rooms, my parents went to the room opposite my Aunt. Then it was just me and Aunt Candy, this was the first time that I would be speaking to her but I didn't know what to say, she then broke the awkward silence with "You have grown into a handsome young man, you have my father's blue eyes" She smiled and walked slowly to the edge of the hallway "I don't think I can walk any longer than this but I am afraid you will have to have the attic, that is the only room with a bed all the other rooms are going to be cleared away"
I couldn't believe this! why did I have to sleep in the attic when there was dozens of bedrooms downstairs I tried to be clam and act polite "What do you mean by going to be cleared away?" I asked. "Oh were going to have huge auction at the manor soon, you see now that I only have a few weeks left to live I have to sell my belongings and furniture of this place, since I haven't been working for over a year I am heavily in debt and I don't want to leave this world knowing I owe the bank money" I nodded my head and went up the wooden ladder. To my surprise my suitcase was already here the attic wasn't too bad. It had a single bed in the corner of the room and huge stained glass window of a knight and holding a baby. At least I had the biggest room, trying to stay positive, looking around there was white sheets covering what looked like old furniture. I was really tired so went straight to sleep.
As I was sleeping, suddenly a gush of cold wind covered my body, I shivered and wrapped the thin piece of dusty blanket tighter to me. I could hear footsteps downstairs, maybe it was Aunt Candy, but remembered she was ill to walk, I wondered what it could be, I was scared to investigate. but decided to get up and check, what if it was a thief? but we were in middle of a forest who could possible know about us. I put my slippers on and climbed the attic ladder downstairs, I walked down the hallway past my Aunts room and my parents, I could recognize my parents snoring so knew it couldn't be them. I could hear it more distinctively now. I could hear dragging, I slowly tip toed down the large monstrous staircase. It was dark but I could still make out that there was nothing here, I then heard a noise coming from my right as I approached towards the sound I began entering the kitchen, it was massive with a huge oven, I noticed that the door to the garden was wide open, whatever was here seemed to have just left. I approached the glass garden door and quickly closed just in case whatever it was would come back in and I peered outside throughout the glass hoping to catch a glimpse of whatever it was. If it was still lurking outside. All of the tension building up inside of me had made me sweat and I was thirsty, since I was already in the kitchen I went to open the refrigerator to see if there was any cool drinks inside and then my face filled with complete horror. There was a huge clear jar with two eye balls sticking out. They were clear blue and blood shot red. life's shine had gone out of them and a red dried muscle and bulging vein could been seen behind the eyes, almost like they had been violently pulled out. I quickly paced backwards away from the refrigerator when I could feel that I had bumped into someone behind me, I quickly turned to find a two menacing eyes right in my face "Boo!". I screamed and then heard laughter, suddenly the lights came on, I looked to who had turned on the lights it was Dad, I then could hear Bald man Terry laughing hysterically at me "you should of seen you face when I said Boo!! It looked like you was going to crap your pants!" I quickly walked away to dad side "But I heard dragging and came downstairs" I felt like I was going to cry.
"Yeah that was me, I was bringing in a new bag of potatoes to the pantry" Terry spoke. I felt like a idiot now I replied with "at 1 in the morning?" I checking my watch to show proof to my dad.
"It's actually 6am your still using New York time kid" Oh how I hated Terry. He was like the annoying big brother that I didn't have. Me and Dad went back upstairs "don't worry son you was misunderstood" dad patted my head and went back into his room. I went back into the attic. When I got back into bed I remembered what I had saw in the refrigerator; those eyes.
Edit: Well that is what happened on the first day. I will dedicate each post I write to one day during my time in London. Already I have so much more to tell you a lot of creepy things have been going on. So stay tuned and thanks for reading!
