My Costco lamb was off. Do I need to take my 5lb leg of lamb back to the store? Frugal

Just joined Costco and I was super excited to find they stock Australian lamb. So this past Friday I bought a 5lb boneless leg of lamb for $25 total. My plan was to cook it, eat some, make a sauce and freeze it in portions with rice. I took it straight home in freezing temperatures and took it out this Sunday. It was in date for five more days. As soon as I unwrapped it I thought it smelled more strongly than it should. I'm a Brit and I have cooked a lot of lamb over the years. Anyway I went ahead and roasted it. When I tasted it I knew it was off. So now I have 5lb of cooked lamb sitting in my refrigerator. How do I get a refund? Do I have to take it back to the store? I would prefer not to drive 40 miles there and back on snow-covered roads right now.
