Already posted about her once, but here I am again. [LONG] badroommates

I posted about her a few weeks ago, but I wrote out her story again in a comment the other day and had more to add...so here ya go. TRIGGER WARNING there are drugs in this story!

My roommate moved in with my boyfriend and I to get her shit together and get off meth. She moved out to AZ from OK (where I'm from) and in with me because I'm a heroin addict and went to rehab out there and built a nice sober life for myself.

She did good for about a month. She started dating my best guy friend and they started getting drunk and smoking weed together. The town we lived in was very small and word would spread quick and everyone would assume I was no longer sober as well so getting messed up was not allowed in my home. She didn't care. Her boyfriend started cheating on her and was basically throwing it in her face. He would deny it even though it was more than crystal clear and she would believe him. He also started stealing my boyfriend and i's things.

For about 8 months my once nice, cozy home was a war zone. Her boyfriend basically live at my house except on weekends when his side girl would be off work (she worked in treatment which caused her to live at the house with the girls 5 days a week). He would always have some excuse as to why he would be MIA every weekend. Roommate bought it.

I was uncomfortable in my own home because of them, and so was my boyfriend. It got to the point where I told her that she needed to be out of my house by the end of the week if she was going to stay with him (every other day she would come crying about some new thing he did to her and she was going to dump him...every time the would "have a really good talk" and the cycle would continue). I also told her he was no longer welcome in my house under no circumstances. They decided to stay together and then the next day he broke up with her. His excuse was that he was moving back to California to be with his daughter that his parents have custody of. But before this he wanted her to also move to California with her son that her mom has custody of.

She quickly moved on to a guy she met when he came into her work, and stayed the night at his house the first time they ever hung out. She wonders why she never has healthy relationships... My boyfriend got an opportunity to move to a new state of his choosing to open a new store for the company he works at. He's from AZ but fell in love with OK when he came out with me to visit my family. We chose to move to OK but a different bigger city. Roommate came along. Didn't have money to help with any packing material, moving costs, or anything for the new house. My boyfriend and I are fortunate enough to have parents that are more than willing to help with funds. So, I tell roommate that it's fine but she needs to help us pack up the house. That doesn't happen. She doesn't even pack her room until the moving company IS AT OUR HOUSE and she screams and cusses at me in front of my boyfriends mom (who came to help us) for waking her up at 10am.

I tell her that she can forget moving because I'm sick of her shit. I'm trying to stay as calm as possible in front of boyfriends mom, but it was extremely hard. Also, one of her conditions to getting her son back is to have at least one house bill in her name. I try to help her out and tell her she can have the electric in her name, but since she has no credit the deposit was $300+ and she needed to pay that since we were paying for everything else. She did.

I give in (I'm too much of a pushover because I genuinely feel sorry for her.) and tell her that she can move but first sign of her pulling any of the crap she had been the past year- she's out. Well guess how long she lasted acting like an adult? A week. She starts her new job in our new city and comes home wasted her first night! She got roofied by the creepy couple she decides to befriend (they dropped her off and walked her to the door. They weren't people you would want to hang out with and I'm pretty sure they were trying to case our house until they saw my 6'4 boyfriend and our other male roommate). This isn't the first time she's lead creepy people to my house. She did it in AZ too so I set a strong boundary not to have people she barely knows come to our house. We have nice things, in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood. None of which are hers. Her drinking gets progressively worse to the point where it's a problem. She's not living with me to party, she's living with me to learn to act like a normal 26 year old adult and get her child back. I have a talk with her about it and it just turns into her yelling. Soon after, she brings a guy home that she had just met the day before and has him stay at the house. I tell her she needs to move out. She goes and calls the landlord and finds out she's on the lease and can't be evicted. She was never supposed to be on the lease-we thought we were signing a tenant agreement- but our land lord is an older man and I guess he forgot. My mom got our house for us since we were still living in another state and her and the landlord decided it would be best that she's the lease holder since she has the funds to cover rent, and roommates tend to have problems from time to time. Obviously this slipped his mind.

Shortly before she called the landlord, she admitted to me that she had shot heroin for the first time at work. I wasn't mad, I talked to her about it and I really felt bad for her because I know first hand how easy it is to get sucked in and what living that lifestyle leads to. She said she had no desire to do it again and was in tears because she felt so horrible about herself.

She then claims she just paid $600 for an apartment and will be moving out soon. Gives me the name of the apartments and is talking about how Random Guy might be moving in with her too.

She can't go a week with out starting crap, so not long after this she tried turning our other roommate, my boyfriend, and I against each other. Little did she know that our other roommate quickly grew to hate her not long after moving in. Needless to say, her telling me he had called me all these names made him pretty angry. Especially because when she would come to him about all this, he would tell her he was staying out of it. She then tried to hold the electricity over my head since she paid the deposit. Since she wanted to be petty, I told her she was no longer allowed to use the washer, dryer, or refrigerator since my parents bought them.

She used them anyway at 6am trying to be sneaky and got caught- but didn't know I saw her. The day after she made a sideways comment about how "she's a lover and needs to stop letting people treat her like trash and walk all over her and act like their better than her". I just laughed, so she said "so funny right?" Which made me laugh more and tell her it's hilarious. Then I told her that I guess i wasn't clear when I told her not to use my things. She denied it twice once even saying "no really, in all seriousness I haven't used them". So I named all the items of clothes she had washed (it was a really small load) and told her unless one of the cats washed them for her, she's either delusional or a liar. Then she exploded about how she has a right to use them because she pays a fourth of the water and electricity. So I told her all the ways she's still using water, and electricity. That I don't care what she thinks she's entitled to and not to touch my things.

This was a week ago. Last night, random guy she brought home that has lived here since (for free) got into a fight...with her door open... Knowing my boyfriend was in the living room playing Xboxone. She yelled "you already did all my shit so get the fuck out!". He didn't. They're fine. But I knew what "shit" she was referencing. She leaves her door to her room open when she goes to work, and I needed the cleaning supplies that I bought and she had stolen and tried to hide under her sink. So when grabbing them... Guess what I found! Not heroin, BUT a ton of paraphernalia including a burnt spoon and toilet paper splattered with cooked tar. Just openly visible when opening the cabinet. With help from some people on reddit, my landlord, and a family friend that happens to be a great lawyer... I called the cops. Not only could everyone living here get in trouble for her drugs if she gets raided, but that's putting my boyfriend and myself in a potentially terrible and possibly deadly situation. I didn't work as hard as I have to stay sober and live the life I live to have it ruined by someone I bent over backwards for trying to help. The cops came while she was at work, told us since its in the shelves "hidden" under her sink, they can't do much as of right now. But they got her info, and told us to keep an eye out because it's only a matter of time before she trips up and leaves something in the open. In which case they will be happy to come take her to jail. I'm not going to let her know that I know, and wait until she messes up.

So, to add on to this...Today my boyfriend and I were in the living room drinking coffee since we had just woke up. Bad roommate walks in with some guy that I've never seen. He looks dirty and has an ace bandage wrapped around his arm right where his (assuming) track marks would be. We didn't say anything, they just went to her room and shut the door. Later today I came home from running errands, my boyfriend and our other roommate were at their work finishing up the final touches before it opens Monday. I pull onto our street and see an ambulance and police car in front of the house. My stomach dropped a little, but I remembered that the house across the street had a cop and ambulance out side a few weeks ago and calmed down a little. I went inside the house and didn't see anyone, and BR's door was shut so I figured her and grungey kid were still in her room.

I was grabbing a cigarette out of my purse in the living room when BR and Grungey kid walk through the front door. BR smiles with a smug look on her face and they walk back to her room. She was wearing rolled up boxers so her ass hung out the bottom and a tank top. She's got a nice figure but it was still not something to walk around our nice neighborhood in. I just shrugged it off and went out to the front porch to smoke. All the sudden a paramedic walks up and tells me he forgot his bag inside and asks if he can go grab it. I looked at him and asked "You were in my house?" and he replied yes, and I told him to go ahead and go in.

I immediately get up and walk to the drivers side of the cop car. The officer rolls the window down and its a lady cop. Lady cops are usually not the nicest. This woman was amazing. I asked her why they were there and she told me they got a call for a heroin overdose and the guy was purple when they revived him. She said the paramedic said he would have died if they didn't get to him when they did. I explained to her the whole story of BR, including my past with heroin and working in treatment. She told me that she could tell I was sober and how good I look, then gave me a high five. I texted my boyfriend for him and other roommate to get home now, which they did. Lady cop told us that if we get raided, which is possible since there are now two calls documented that have to do with drugs and BR, that everyone on the lease would go to jail, even if they only found something in her room. She told us we need to get her out of the house immediately.

I called the land lord and he rushed over since he only lives a mile away. Before he gets there, BR walks out of the house with GK in her work uniform. I tell her she needs to pack her shit and leave and she says "What are you talking about?" trying to completely play dumb about what just happened. I walk back over to the cop car and BR follows. In front of the cop, I tell her that she needs to leave.

  • BR: "I'm not leaving. Im on the lease, I have a right to be here!"
  • Me: "You gave up that right when you brought heroin into the house!"
  • BR: "Ive only done heroin twice! He brought it into the house! Thats not my fault!"
  • Me: "Oh, cut the shit, BR. We found your kit and burnt spoon two days ago...We already had the cops come out that night. If you don't believe me then go ahead and ask. Its in their computer."

At that point she couldn't even say anything back. She knew she was screwed. She just asked to talk to the cop and I walked away. I don't know what was said but she was crying when she walked away from the cop car. Our landlord then goes and gets in the cop car to talk to her about what was going on. While thats happening, GK is apologizing to my boyfriend and I. We tell him that he has nothing to apologize for, this was going to happen to BR anyway. I tell him that I have been him and he needs to get help because this isn't the life he wants to live, and I can't tell him how many friends I've lost due to heroin and he might not be so lucky next time. I offer to help him get help and continue talking to him about it for a good 10 minutes. He's crying, shaking and apologizing the whole time. It was honestly so sad, especially because you could tell he has a good soul and is just mixed up in something terrible.

We stop talking because BR's now ex boyfriend comes walking up, demanding she give him his clothes she has in her room. She goes inside and comes out with a few clothes. He wants her to get the rest and she tells him that she doesn't have time and she has to go to work. She just keeps refusing to give him his stuff while screaming at him in the middle of the driveway in front of the cop and landlord. I ask Random Guy if she really has an apartment like she claims and he is genuinely confused and says that he's never once heard he mention it. Thats what I thought. He then tells her she's the biggest piece of shit he's ever seen and I look her in the face and just said "YEP!". He then just walked off.

Her taxi pulls up at this point (thats right folks, she doesn't have a car either.) and she tells the taxi to wait. The landlord gets out of the cop car and pulls her to the side. He told us that he told her that she's lucky that GK didn't die that day because she would have been charged for it, he's going to be going to the court house and sheriff's office first thing in the morning and removing her from the lease, and he wants her out of the house tonight. She starts crying and telling him she has to go to work or she'll be fired, she has no where to go and she can't move tonight because she won't get off until 2 am. He tells her that she has to be out first thing tomorrow morning then, and he doesn't care she has no where to go.

She walks to the cab crying, and tells GK to get in. The landlord then told us miracles do happen, and that we should change the locks at noon tomorrow and let him know if she leaves or not...but either way he will be making sure she leaves tomorrow. Her family knows what happened now, and they aren't surprised nor supporting her or "whatever sob story she tries to give them". She has nothing now. Karma's a bitch. If you want me to update you with what happens tomorrow, let me know. Hopefully that will be the last time I ever have to deal with her.
