Those pointless light switches nosleep

You know what I'm talking about right? Those pointless light switches about the walls of your house, that have no use. But you easily dismiss them because you think, well they probably did something at some point, like turned on a fan that isn't there anymore or an extra light fixture, you probably even have a couple of them.

Well I have four in my house, and I thought the same exact thing for a long time, except I made a habit out of flicking them randomly as I would pass them, not in any specific order, just as I passed them and saw it, I would get an urge to flick it, and eventually it turned into a habit. But again I have four; I have one in my bedroom, one in the guest bedroom, one in the living room, and one in the garage.

About a week ago I was going about my normal day just got off work, and walked through my house flicking those pointless switches and I don't know why but I made an extra effort, walked all the way into the guest bedroom (the switch is on the opposite side of the room) and flicked it. And as I did the ground shook, I thought an earthquake was happening so I dropped, and got under the bed, looking back it does seem a bit foolish but I did it. After about seven seconds it stopped.

I eventually rolled out from under the bed and got up, walked around my house making sure nothing was broken, everything seemed fine, until I got to the garage, I opened the door leading  to my garage and right in front of the door, my refrigerator that I keep sodas and other things I don't keep in the fridge inside, had toppled over into the doorway. After eventually moving the fridge out of the way, I noticed a huge hole, a perfect square in the cement, right beside the door where the cement steps up, where I had the fridge. But upon closer inspection the hole was an enormous stairway going straight down into the ground.

I obviously should have called the police or something, but I didn't, I went to the store and bought a big spotlight and came back. Now when I say this stairwell was long, I mean I shined the spotlight down it, and could maybe make out the bottom. But regardless I really wanted to know what was down there, I mean I just found a secret passage in my house by flicking random light switches, who wouldn't?

So after preparing, well what I mean by preparing, is I made sure the light was charged and I got a baseball bat. I started descending these steps after I was about head deep I could feel the dampness, like a moisture in the air. And after what felt like eternity I got to the bottom and was confronted by a big wooden door, with a big padlock on it, I was not coming back down here again, so I beat the hell out of the lock with my bat until it fell off. I then pulled the door and was violated with bright light, after adjusting my eyes, I looked and what I saw was an enormous library.

Walking into the library I noticed that the lights weren't bulbs, they were huge bowls of fire hanging from the ceiling, it didn't make any sense to me, but who was I to question this mysterious library under my house. As I'm walking I come to what looks like a lounging area, and in one of the large lounge chairs is a man, and right as I noticed him he looked up at me “ah hello, come join me, it's been too long Michael” “uhh I'm not Michael” “oh? Then who are you?” at this point he stands and motions for me to come sit down.

I was having no part of this man in my secret basement, or his sitting implications. “I think I'm going to pass” “nonsense let's get to know each other, I'm sure we can find a mutual benefit” “actually I think I'm just gonna go” his eyes started glowing a dark yellow “I would really like you to reconsider” at this point I was gone I ran through the door slamming it as I passed through, and all the way up the stairs tripping a few times on the way up, I flew across the garage, and flicked the switch sending the cement door back over.

So now, I have a secret underground library and who knows what else in there, I think I'm going buy a gun and go see what that guy is doing in there. But to all of you, beware of those light switches that you don't think does anything
