I confess that I vaguely remember buying that 750 ml bottle of fish sauce for the two tablespoons I needed for the recipe I saw on the Internet the one time in my life I ever attempted to make Thai food. It was before I was married. (I've been married for 9 years.) I am afraid of the smell it might produce if I poured it down the drain, so I keep it in the fridge, where at least it sits in stasis.
