Storing seeds long term gardening

Hello I understand seeds expire if left out at room temperature in about a year or so and germination rate goes down. I know that seed banks keep their seeds in cold storage. I'm wondering if there is any way to store seeds in my refrigerator freezer to use next year or years after. I do already understand the principles of keeping seeds relatively cool and dry for short term use.
