Alright, I feel like I should spread the word of what's happened to me very recently. The thought of it just keeps eating me alive. Like something dead but living is gnawing on my bones, while I just completely stare in awe. It's an interesting ride to say the least.
Let me say some disclaimers before I begin, I am by no means a writer, professional, or even average for that matter. So this is your heads up for possible grammatical errors. And you might think this is fake, or fabricated, but I can guarantee what happened to me, really happened. And you can choose to believe whatever you want. But I know what I saw. And I have felt through and around my bones of what was presented to me that day.
Alright, I guess I should take you back to the beginning. Here we go, I still get chills from thinking about it... It's not scary In a horror movie "there's a masked serial killer in my basement trying to kill me" type of way, but it's chilling nonetheless:
September 15th, 2016 Started out like any other usually day for me, got up, washed my anti grind retainers off in the sink to remove the smell and saliva dirtyness off. Brushed my teeth, and got a quick snack then headed back to my room for a break. At this time I was searching for jobs, with little to no luck I decided to take a couple days off of looking, maybe hope someone calls me while I'm at my leisure. I'm living with a friend at this point, no parents luckily. I'm 21, pretty much no social life whatsoever. I spent my free time doing "nerd" things like Text based role playing or video games on either my phone or my Xbox. Occasionally hop on my PC to read stories and scour the Internet looking for new news on any upcoming games or movies.
I always stay on my phone for a good 30 minutes after I brush my teeth. Here's when things started to get odd. I could've sworn that the time on my iPhone had stopped completely for a solid couple of minutes. That and my cell and wi-fi signals dropped completely. And in that specific moment, there was no noise around me, at all. And during that time, I had a fan blowing air around the room. So yeah of course I'm definitely going to find it a bit odd that for an entire couple of minutes absolutely no sound is around me. But of course I brushed it off as my imagination, because i imagine shit when I'm bored. And went on with my soon to be interesting morning.
So I get up to take a shower at this point, I go in, turn it on the warm setting, and wait for it to warm up while putting my clothes in my dirty clothes bin. Since I live with my friend it's not a very large living space, a small two bedroom apartment, one bathroom, one kitchen, etc. So it was very compact, so going from the bathroom to my room didn't take nearly a half a second.
I enter the shower and begin bathing, nothing out of the ordinary right? Next thing I know I'm not in my shower anymore.
What. The. Fuck?
It doesn't feel like I'm out of my shower though is the thing. I still feel the water pouring onto my skin, it doesn't make any sense. It's like my mind and my body are in two separate places comprehending two things at once.
I'm in an empty room, or what I think is a room. It's completely white, like I can't even tell if I'm walking on anything there, it still feels like I'm standing in my shower. I feel the water, and I feel my feet on the ground of the shower. I didn't understand, I was completely lost.
I continued walking forward in this, unknown land that I have entered. I call out for anyone thinking it would work. Nope, no answer. A whole lotta nothingness. I continued walking forward some more, for what felt like hours, hoping going in one solid direction would help me find something, anything. At this point I'm getting restless, and a bit irritated. I still feel the water hitting my skin, and I'm walking on the shower floor. But I'm in this, this place.
All of a sudden, I see a black spec in the distance. Maybe about the size of an ant judging by how far it was. As it got closer I realized it resembled that of a human body, it walked the same way, and had the same features a fellow human would have walking towards you in the distance. It continued to get closer to me, now I could see some key features. A Caucasian man with a black suit and green tie on. Maybe about 6ft, the same height as me. At this point I got chills, one person in the middle of all this nothingness?
Took him a couple minutes to approach me, but he arrived in front of me. Scruffy face, white beard, rough skin, bright green eyes, and a very shiny bald head. He stood there still for a second, sort of inspecting me. I might've forgot to mention, but I'm completely nude in this place right in that time, and nothing to cover up with. Anyways, he began to move around me in circles, inspecting me further, while I stood still. Helpless. Do you know how many thoughts were going in my mind at that time? I'm a grown ass man, and I'm helpless. And clueless. I wanted to speak but I felt unspoken. I wanted to run but was paralyzed at the same time.
The man in the suit finally broke the silence.
"You don't work out much do you?" He said with a noticeably raspy voice.
His question was so random I didn't have a response, I was still in shock.
"I assumed so" he replied snarkily, with a grin on his face.
He followed up with "My name is Kili by the way. I'll be your new mentor."
I was confused, so I responded accordingly, with a stutter. "M-m-mentor?" I asked, giving off a very curious but worried look on my face.
"Oh right, I forgot. You guys aren't acquainted with these types of things. Look, I'll only tell you this. Your path has more than one direction, it never ends, it just keeps changing directions. You help me, and I'll help you. That how this usually works. If you don't help me, I don't help you. It's voluntary. You can do it, or you can not. Your choice. I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough." And with no time for me to process what he just said, with the blink of my eyes he was gone. Completely. Nowhere to be found. I called out for him by name but the nothingness of this place just protruded in my mind further.
I started to hear the sound of my shower again, by this time I was just wanting to get out of that place so I could process what I just saw. The sound of my shower slowly faded back in completely, and my eyes blinked once more and there I was in my shower again. I guess I was gone for a long time because the water had lost all heat. Was colder than my refrigerator. I almost turned it off but realized I was still covered in soap. I continued to finish bathing and think about what the man said. "My name is Kili, I'll be your new mentor." What the fuck does that even mean.
I finished rinsing all the soap off, but hadn't turned the shower off because I was lost in my own thoughts. And then I realized, snapping out of my thoughts and into reality, the water isn't moving anymore. It's frozen mid-air above me. And similar to what happened earlier, no sound anywhere. It was a ominous but serene quietness.
Time seemed to have stopped in its tracks, and now I was freaking out. My day just got even freakier than it was before. But that also brings up questions, how am I able to think when time is frozen? How am I able to move? I wanted answers, I also wanted to double check if what I was seeing was real. So I dried off with a towel, drying the droplets of water on my skin who were frozen in place. It seemed like the logical thing was to just not ask questions, but with the way my mind works, I can't do that.
I gathered my new clothes and changed into them. And put my shoes on, afterwards taking a quick glance at my phone. It was still working, shockingly enough.
Actually, come to think of it, that doesn't make any sense. My phone works somewhat but no other electronics do? I didn't even know what to think.
I unlocked it. Remember what I lived through earlier this morning? Yeah, same thing is happening here. No cell phone signal on the phone. And no wifi signal. The time is stuck on 8:34am. And the battery life is at 51%, and the battery life doesn't seem to want to move either. First thing I do is try to call my mom. But the phone just brings up the calling screen with the timer not moving and no sound, so I doubt that works. Second I try all my social media apps. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, all the like. None of them work. They all stay on the default loading icon when you first open the app.
My phone works, even when time is frozen. My logic at this point went out the window. I stopped trying to comprehend how or why it works the way it does, and just dealt with it at that point. I walk into the living room and see that the TV was left on before I got to the shower, frozen on a news channel. I look at the clock on the wall next to the living room couch to double check the time and sure enough as well, it reads the same time as my phone, the clock stopped ticking for sure.
I wanted to try something more extreme to see if I was dreaming, see if I could wake myself up. So I took a knife from the kitchen drawer and cut my hand, somewhat deep.
Nope, nothing. I wasn't dreaming at all, I went to get some bandages and other stuff to stop the pain and the bleeding.
Now I'm definitely sold on something, I walk outside afterwards and there's even more proof. In the middle of the street, that time is no longer moving forwards or backwards. A car "stopped" in the middle of the street, with a business woman who seemed like she was on a call before time had stopped. Driving to work probably. I inspect the outside world around me, everything, and I mean everything, was frozen in time.
Butterfly's suspended in the air. Dust particles in the middle of their glistening stuck in one place. A neighbor walking to his mailbox to check mail. A dog in someone's backyard who was in the middle of taking a shit.
The world had paused around me, and surprisingly for the first time in years, I felt legitimately unnerved. But at the same time, I thought it was cool. I mean who wouldn't? You literally have everything frozen in its tracks and it's so calm and peaceful. It's like the whole world stopped to take a picture.
I would travel for miles upon miles, exploring the world around me in its current state. Cars didn't seem to work while time was paused, which somewhat makes sense to me. Still doesn't explain why my phone works though, I mean my phone works but it doesnt receive any signals.
As I'm roaming this world, I start asking the real questions. How long is time paused? Am I stuck here forever? Can I control it? And last but not least. I came to a conclusion, I could actually use this to my advantage. I was the only one who could move to my knowledge. So what would I do with this opportunity that I had?
I headed to the nearest bank, and stole about 5 million in cash, right out of the vault. Probably more than I ever really need, I knew i could've stole more, but eh. Maybe it was wrong, but I felt that time itself not moving in either direction is wrong, so I said fuck it. I stashed the 5 million in the apartment under my bed, in case time had started randomly again. I had a small hope in the back of my mind that it would start again.
Even though time was paused, and there was no trace of any progression. I still became hungry, still felt tired by the end of the "day". And still operated like time wasn't stopped. It felt like I wandered around this world for millennia with time not progressing. I soon woke up one day, and decided to start drinking alcohol to see if it would help me a bit. So I headed to a nearby pub, and stole a couple bottles of whiskey and gin. All the stuff to get me shitfaced, hopefully that is.
Once I collected all these things I went back to the apartment, and began drinking heavily. I think I was trying to rid my mind of what was happening, or it might of been because of lonelieness. I didn't know what was and wasn't reality anymore.
I woke up with a massive headache later on, don't know how long i slept, for obvious reasons. And I'm pretty sure I got fucking trashed earlier because I literally see an empty bottle of gin laying at the end of my bed, and trust me, it wasn't a small bottle. I'm surprised I didn't kill myself from that. A couple minutes later however, I hear the tv in the living room turn on, and a ding from my phone.
That's when I jumped to open my phone "Huh, It's moving again." I said, as I see that my cell and wi-fi signal are back and the time is now 8:25am. The ding was from a text message from an unknown caller id, but somehow the number was still shown underneath. It was only 5 numbers, thats odd...
The first 4 digits of the numbers, translate to Kili...
The man in the suit. I didn't even need to figure out the last digit to know it was him, or did I? No it can't be a coincidence, I have to see wha... There was no message. The text bubble was empty when I opened the messaging app....
I get up from my bed and get on my computer. I have a message from skype, it's weird because it's the same number on my phone.
But it's as the name of the Skype user contacting me. I open the message and it says this:
"Meet me at echo point, whenever you realize what I mean, no specific time."
That was my story up until now. I had to share because I'm still trying to figure this thing out and don't know what to do. It's been more than a couple of days since that event took place and time hasn't stopped since, I've got no more texts from that number, and no more information on what the fuck I should do. Nothing really interesting has happened since then. I need help, To understand what Kili means by all the shit he said.
All the information I can give you is that the number the text(s) came from is only 5 digits, and I'm assuming it means something at this point. The first 4 digits mean Kili obviously, but the last has me completely lost. 5454 and the last digit is 7 "54547"
Maybe the number together means something else, like not just his name. Maybe his name is just a coincidence.
I don't know where else to go with this story, and I want to know where this road takes me.... Any help is appreciated, I'll update if anything else interesting happens...
