liquid yeast question Homebrewing

I'm dealing with customer service at NB, Deanna tells me (Yeast can safely

live outside of refrigeration for over a week. I recently brewed a beer using yeast that was outside of refrigeration for over a month to prove the point that yeast is still viable, despite most people's fears.) SO can liquid yeast live in temperatures over 60 ° F that long. I tried to explain how the yeast I received was dead from 80+ shipping temps but no luck. wyeastlab 24. What is the best way to store yeast before use? In a refrigerator as cold as possible without freezing. 34 °F is ideal. Most refrigerators run around 40 °F.
