So, I manage a restaurant in a little town.
One of refrigerators broke. So, we called our regular maintenance company. We called them 5 times. They said they would come. They never did.
Naturally, we went on to look for other people/companies who can do this job. A few of them told us they were busy and they could not add us to their client list. Fair enough.
But the ones who did tell us they were free and said they were gonna come. Never did.
and finally after 2 weeks. We got ahold of some local guy. He said he could come and take a look at our fridge in 15 minutes. He came and said the compressor broke and needed to be replaced but it was a black friday and I live in a small town. He said we had to wait til monday to get the part.
Monday came. he never did. We called and he said he was busy and told us that our regular maintenance company would take care it for us? (???). and we told them we don't wanna have anything to do with those guys anymore (we called 5 times, they never showed up. can you blame us?).. and this guy went on and told us he was busy and if we wanted to use his service... we had to wait. WTF? You just told us on friday.. you would come and fix everything on monday. and you're telling us you're busy?
At this point, I've had enough with this BS. So I called a guy from nearest city.. We had to pay him more but it was worth it.
Seriously. My biggest pet peeve is when people fail to keep their words. especially when they are getting paid to do a job. How hard is it? Be on time. Be professional. and be on time. If you can't, let us know. Don't wait till the other party asks you.
