My solar system (heh, space pun) has been turned on and producing power since December 17th. Currently, it's sunny with zero clouds and according to my monitoring system, I'm producing just over 5,000 Watts of power. That means that my space heater, computer, refrigerator and washing machine are all being powered the by the Sun and not Nevada Energy's grid. Also, it shows that I've produced nearly 300 kWh of electricity this month, which means my bill will be around $35. I will also have a partial bill from NVE, of course offset by whatever has been powered by the panels and not the grid.
