Question storing food to re-heat later. cookingforbeginners

Hello!

I'm a University student, I've decided it's about time I start eating properly and I have a question and I was wondering if any of you could help me.

How do I store meals to then re-heat and eat a few days later?

For example, say I was wanting to cook some chilli con carne, would I just go about it like usual: browning the mince, adding the sauce, letting it simmer - would I then be able to put a serving in a bowl to eat and then store the rest in the refrigerator?

If so, how would I re-heat it and how many times could I do that (If I had enough chilli for more than two meals)? Also, is it possible to store cooked rice?

Sorry, I have so many questions - any help would be vastly appreciated!

Thanks.
