So, I met my roommate through my ex girlfriend 2 years ago. I would hang out with him from time to time. We were living in a house and decided to move into an apartment in 2012. Everything was going pretty good up until he invited his sister to everything. My friend was dating him up until he invited his sister on their date (seriously).
One day we were shopping at the mall and i decided to buy a xbox 360. I hooked it up in the living room. I asked if he wanted to play it but he always declined. He invited his mom over. She doesn't like me because im a lesbian so this made things really awkward. She sat in the living room while i was playing call of duty. Then he was like "hey mom. Like our new toy? " i was thinking to myself that it was mine.. he didn't pay for it. So i just put it in my room.
I will admit. He does pay his bills on time... its just hes really odd. Everything in the apartment is mine. Obviously i didn't mind if he used the things in the apartment but he never would clean up after himself. He would eat on my couch and recliner and wouldn't clean up the crumbs he left. He never vaccumed or cleaned the bathroom. He wouldn't clean up after he shaved his face. He would never buy toilet paper either so I started buying my own and hid it. Every time id get home from work at 1130 at night... him and his sister would be sitting in the living room watching tv until like 2am w the tv blaring. One time he had his family there until 2am and i had to text him to keep it down and clean up his mess. Eventually I just took my recliner and put it in my room. Why should it be in the living room if hes just gonna be disrespectful?
He would meet random girls off the Internet. One time i came home while he was in the shower... and some random girl was sitting on the couch. Wtf are you doing dude? And another time.... a different girl was sitting on the couch crying and he was consoling her. I had to walk through the living room..it was pretty awkward.
We had uverse and he would pay that bill while i would pay the gas bill. Which worked out great because i never watched tv.. i just used to wifi. Mutual agreement. He bought a new car and asked if i could start paying half the uverse. Hah. I told him no because i only use the wifi. He originally set up the wifi in my room... after i declined the splitting of the bill.. he took the wifi out of my room and put it in his. Needless to say... it wouldn't work in his room so now its in mine again.
im the one that pays the rent and the bills. He just sets out the money and im responsible for the rest. Its just annoying because youd think wed take turns. If maintenance needs to be called... im the only one that calls.
I don't know what the hell the he eats because the refrigerator is filled w just dr pepper and beer. He used to eat frozen food and that was it. Its just really strange to me.
I told him in july that ill be moving out at the end of December when our lease is up. Guess who's moving in with him? His sister. I don't know how hes going to manage but good luck to him. This was one of the weirdest roommates i ever had to deal with. I think we intentionally avoid each other.
Im moving in 2 weeks!
