My freezer temperature started to rise after it was left open for around 8 hours. After 2 weeks, it got noticeably worse to the point where we had to stop using it.
I removed the ice buildup off of the evap coil, cleaned the condenser coils, and plugged it back in. I only let it defrost for approximately 1-2 hours. Chipped some of the ice off manually.
After being plugged in for 24 hours, the freezer remained at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I left it plugged in for 3 days and it didnt get any colder.
Today I took the back panel off again, and the evap coil was frozen in the same spot. http://ift.tt/2odVnCz
I tested the defrost heated for resistance, and it did have some so i'm sure that the heater itself isn't the issue.
I'm not sure what else to test, though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if more information is needed.
