[NSV] and some questions keto

My NSV is that I played full court basketball today for the first time in at least ten months. I was exhausted, but I dragged my butt, albeit a lighter one than a few weeks ago, up and down the court against a bunch of 18-22 year olds (I work at a university). It was ugly and I'm tired, but I also sweated a lot and played pick up ball for a solid 90 minutes. I'll view that as an NSV.

On my way home, I started thinking about how my body reacts to the exercise and I have some questions for the pros here at /r/keto:

  1. Does exercising first burn any spare carbs in your bloodstream, even if you've been on keto for a few weeks and are pretty sure you're in ketosis? Or does ketosis mean your body just ignores any carbs and burns fat/protein for energy?

  2. Broth. It seems like something magical as I've read this subreddit for a couple weeks now. Headache? Broth. Stomach acting up? Broth. Cramps? Broth. Knowing I definitely lost some electrolytes playing ball today, I did what any good /r/keto newbie would do - I warmed up and gulped down some mf'ing broth! It was chicken broth and I just poured a cup out of the container in our refrigerator, warmed it up in the microwave, and drank it (after adding some extra salt). Am I doing it right? Is that all there is to this magical potion? Honestly, it was disgusting. But I did and and will continue to do it after exercise if it will help me balance my electrolytes out.

  3. Regarding IF, I've been intrigued and think I can add it to my keto routine; however, how often does it need to be done to have any effects? Is once a week going to have any benefits or do I need to do it more often?

Thanks in advance. I know I can probably do a bunch of searches and find an answer to #3 especially, but I like conversation and hope you'll tolerate my newbie questions.

TL:DR: I played hoops for the first time in months and first time on keto. Yay! But it raised questions about carb burning, broth consumption, and IF.
