Hi all. My mother sleeps with a CPAP machine and her doctor prescribes her antibiotics occasionally to deal with the infections that she sometimes gets from the machine. She generally has a new prescription ever 4-6 months or so, and I just discovered that she has been storing her medication in her refrigerator.
I'm just wondering if storing amoxicillin or augmentin pills in the refrigerator for months on end might have any effect on their efficacy? My mom is the kind of person who would do this based on an old wives' tale, so I doubt that she bothered to be sure it was safe beforehand.
