The counterweight on my shop's fridge broke and I need help! DIY

Howdy DIY,

My shop has a GDM-33-LD double door sliding glass door refrigerator. Unfortunately the chord holding the counterweight has broken and frayed (sorry for the cruddy photo, the frayed chord is on the right side of the image).

The broken weight is on the rear door, and it appears I can only remove said door if I remove the front door, but that makes me concerned about breaking the working counterweight.

I've been scouring the webs, and I can't find any sort of guide to point me in the right direction, and I was wondering if anyone had a simple fix for this.
