I have a Whirlpool french door refrigerator that has the water filter in the upper right ceiling of the unit. To replace, you squeeze a latch to open a plastic door (folds down). You then unscrew the old filter, screw the new one in, then close the trap door. Problem is, the door won't stay shut. The latch is made of plastic and does not appear to be broken. I tried to expand it (kind of like a spring?) - but not having any luck. Besides being really annoying, it doesn't seem to cause any harm. I have a jar of olives underneath it to prop it up.
