on Tuesday morning (about 8 AM) we took out chicken from the freezer (2 lbs boneless skinless breast) and placed it on a plate on our counter, fully intending to cook it Tuesday evening for dinner.
We got home that night around 5 PM and the chicken was still frozen partially so I decided not to cook it that evening and put it back in the refrigerator.
I know that this is probably not the best / safest practice to adhere to but I was wondering if anybody had any insight as to whether or not I should attempt to cook it tonight.
Is it bad to put something back in the refrigerator after it has come to almost or room temp (even though still partially frozen in the middle) and then attempt to cook it 24 hours later? I am assuming it will smell bad if it is rotten so that is an easy indicator not to cook it, but should I just throw it away or should I take the chance?
Any input about this will be much appreciated
