Long story short my refrigerator/freezer is broken. I cannot keep anything cold. I live in an apartment and hopefully management will be out soon to assess and remedy the situation.
Until then, I need ideas for shelf stable foods that can be turned into balanced meals for 1-2 people with no leftovers. I generally rely on buying in bulk and freezing leftovers and this is currently not an option. I had to throw out everything I had.
I've been eating oatmeal with dried fruit & almonds for breakfast and cans of soup for lunch/dinner.
I'm on a very limited budget (need to spend as little as possible) and I don't know how long I will need to do this for either.
What are your suggestions for super cheap foods that can be combined for balanced meals (lunch/dinner) in single servings?
