12 y/o fridge died.. ahead of schedule. Wanted to replace it when I started my kitchen redesign/remodel next year. Not sure what to do. HomeImprovement

Hi, As the title says, my 12 year old refrigerator died (well, the thermostat did ~500$ part) and I had intended on replacing it when I remodeled my kitchen next year; I was going to replace it with a counter depth unit.

I was going to redesign the entire kitchen for better work flow and the current location of the fridge (and range) sucks. Should I go ahead and replace the unit with what I want without the redesign planning or should I start the redesign planning asap and then get the fridge. I'm going to look at refrigerators this afternoon, fwiw...
