Does it make sense selling cheap items on Retail? thesims

I mean, if you want to just roleplay a baker or whatever, sure. But it seems like with the markup as a percentage, you'd be better off selling nothing but highly expensive crap. I imagine the smaller stuff moves quicker, but that just means more juggling on your part. It seems most efficient to sell expensive crap. Is that true?

Edit: So I was selling various knickknacks with the most expensive thing being a $2,000 camera. My best day was around $12,000 profit in about 12 hours. I sold off everything one by one, removing their signs and bought $8,500 beds as I could afford them. In 16 hours I made $64,000. So, I'm thinking if you want to print money, big ticket items are how to do it. I'm going to make an appliance store now that only sells $14,000 refrigerators.

Also, are multiple employees worth it? It seems like they just end up talking to themselves. I can't separate them. Sometimes I get lucky and some customers join their conversation, but I can't figure out how to make them leave each other alone and handle customers proactively.
