We live in Salt Lake count, but this is when we were in Utah county...The last apartment complex we live in has served us papers, stating we owe them money for moving out early and/or outstanding fees. We left when the lease was up, and we did spot cleaning as we were already being charged for a cleaning crew by the apartment. At some point they said that we owed them because the refrigerator door was so scratched up it needed to be replaced. We asked them to send us proof, and if they did we would pay. We never got the evidence, and have not heard from them until now. I have pictures of the refrigerator, and it is not scratched. We can't afford to pay the $730.79+ collection fee of $292.31, a court cost of $95, and an attorney fee of $250, especially when there were no damages, and we left when the lease was up.
