American Home Shield. Refrigerator needs work. Is water filter covered under service call? HomeImprovement

I know water filters need replacing. Ice maker needs fixing. I need to know if they would replace current filter when they come out. The service would be pointless if they fix ice maker and I still have to replace water filter on top of it when I don’t know how. Do I need to buy water filter before they come?
