Cream curd (?) threads Cooking

So the past couple of days when I've added cream to my coffee, it doesn't mix well and "threads" float to the surface, covering the surface. This has happened with two different cartons of cream (and a brand new opened one today). In all the years and mornings I make coffee, this hasn't happened. Nothing is different that I know of (same coffee, same refrigerator setting, same brand of cream, etc.)

What's going on here and how do I prevent it?
