Wanna leave a frying pan full of marinara sauce in the work fridge and play games when I am nice enough to leave a note instead of throwing your shit in the trash like I should have? pettyrevenge

As the supervisor in a small store it falls to me to police the communal fridge. A co-worker thought it would be ok to drive to work with a frying pan w/lid full of spaghetti including sauce and leave it in the fridge to permeate everything with the aroma of sauce. Instead of throwing it away I left a note to remove it. Next day my note is taped to my locked lunch box and my boss is telling me that the coworker spent the entire night bitching about me and speculating on my use of said lunch box. I posted a reply on the fridge.

Apparently we have an issue with the use of the communal refrigerator.

Allow me to attempt to explain this.

It is not remotely unreasonable to expect people to date items kept in a communal space. We have all seen things left to the point of decomposition in the cooler in the past.

It is also not unreasonable to ask that things be kept in proper containers as unsealed containers can spill and allow aromas to permeate the entire refrigerator.

It has also been brought to my attention by word of mouth and certain actions that some people have an issue with my lunch box. As pathetic as I find this I will explain anyway.

1> I am the one charged with keeping the refrigerator from becoming a cesspool of mold therefore OBVIOUSLY I keep my lunchbox clean and properly contained.

2> I have NEVER left anything in that box which could spill or contaminate anything else in any way.

3> If people would bother to worry about their own actions and the consequences of them instead of playing petty games and worrying about things that I personally take care of I wouldn't have to write such ridiculous notes.

Finally for those who simply can not handle the overwhelming mystery THE LUNCH BOX IS EMPTY! When I do use it it only contains a small PROPERLY sealed container of mayo and the fixings for a few sandwiches all properly contained.

I hope this boring revelation will allow people to get back to their lives.

I then threw out all food that had been in the fridge for more than 2 days or was not properly labeled.
