We've been married just over a year
When he plays video games and loses/dies, he reacts by punching the sofa, walls, refrigerator, etc., or throwing his headset or generally destroying things. He also yells to the point where he's screaming. None of this is directed at me, beyond giving me the silent treatment for hours after these episodes, I think because he's embarrassed.
This past week has made me realize how much it's effecting me mentally - I'm scared of when he plays video games, I have nightmares of people fighting, my stress levels are through the roof, and I've started flinching when he makes sudden movements. The last outburst he had, I started crying during it. If I beg for him to stop getting violent/stop playing the game so he calms down, he will just ignore me. Sometimes the rages also happen when he's doing other activities, if the smallest thing goes wrong. He's been to counselling for this for months, but if anything it's gotten worse.
These problems have been going on since a few months after we got married. Before that when he was angry he'd only have verbal outbursts.
Does anyone have any advice for this? I can't take it much longer
tl;dr: husband gets angry and hits objects, can't control his rage. Taking a toll on me mentally
