My dog is a wonderful dog inside the home. She sits, stays, shakes, lays, crawls, and even bows! She does get a bit riled up every now and then but that's natural. We got a personal dog trainer for her and we did the inside basics listed above, and we've worked diligently on training her.
Outside it's a whole different story. It's almost like we don't even exist. We had these treats that you get from the refrigerator that she LOVED at first. Now, she couldn't care less. Liver treats? Nope. Beef jerkey? Nope. Grilled chicken? Nope. Outside she comes up, sniffs, walks away. Once she determines she doesn't care for the snack, she simply won't even acknowledge my existence any more. First thing she does is run towards the gate to see if there's an opening. She won't sit, stay, lay, or most importantly, come. It's incredibly frustrating. I want to train her outside but it's proving to be impossible if she doesn't even care for the treats I'm trying to give her.
Does anyone have any irresistible treats that I could test out? I'm open to making anything, as I've read that dog treats simply don't cut it for some dogs. Thanks in advance!
