Kenmore Refrigerator - Water pooling in refrigerator appliancerepair

So I have an issue where water pools in the bottom of my Kenmore Refrigerator 10670182000. There are two depressed areas that seem to be made to handle this but the water never evaporates from there, it just builds up until it spills out and I notice it about to come out onto the floor. Most suggestions I've seen talk about a drainage hole along the back wall, but mine doesn't have that. There is a small cover (drain?) along the back ledge on the right but it's covered and the ledge doesn't slope that way for drainage.

What I've found is that my freezer is freezing (yeah...) to the point where underneath the plastic cover on the bottom of the freezer is a complete sheet of ice. There is also a metal tray in the back of the freezer that has frozen water in it and a hole that actually does lead to the drain pan underneath the freezer. The metal tray is not warm at all, and it may be slightly deformed because of the ice that formed around it.

So after a few minutes with a scraper, hair dryer, cups of hot water, and finally a wire heated on the gas stove to clear the frozen blockage in the drainage pipe, it clears. I pour a few more cups of hot water down, empty the drain pan underneath the refrigerator and put everything back. Should be fixed.

But....I've done this before. Not very often, but sometimes it takes a while for me to notice the water pooling in the refrigerator. So while I think I have a decent grasp on fixing the symptom, I'd like to tackle the problem and not have to worry about it again. I don't know if it's something I can fix myself or something I need someone to do but I'd like a permanent fix that doesn't have me emptying the freezer to get clear the drain every time.

Thanks for any input!
