I'm working on converting a Ford E350 and am currently planning the electrical system. Here's what I have so far: http://ift.tt/1QguOcP
Notable exceptions:
- Missing DC distribution box and loads
- Missing AC distribution box and loads
Loads I plan to add:
- AC - Microwave (~1000W)
- AC - Toaster (~900W)
- AC - Water boiler (~900W)
- AC - Laptop
- AC - Phone
- DC - Refrigerator (~60W 12hrs/day, is my estimation right?)
- DC - LED lighting
- DC - Stereo
- DC - Water pump for sink
- maybe more
I'm planning on 2x100W 12V solar, 1250W inverter, 4 110Ah 12V batteries. The bypass switch is so I can charge the car battery from the house system if it dies (otherwise it'll be off). The inverter is a combination inverter/charger and can charge the house batteries from the shore power line. The main battery shunt has to be 500A because of the meter I'm looking at.
What I'm not sure about:
- Size of shunt on inverter wattmeter (depends on the wattmeter I buy, I guess)
- Size of all fuses
- Do I need more fuses?
- How do I size wire? What gauge do I need where?
- Where do I put circuit breakers?
- Where do I put GFC interrupters (RCD)?
- Any other control switches I should include?
- PWM or MPPT solar controller?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
