If I put a poisonous substance in my sandwich because somebody keeps stealing it. Would I be legally accountable if something happened to them? legaladvice

Someone keeps stealing my lunch sandwich from the refrigerator at work. so if I put a strong laxative or some kind of poisonous substance to teach them a lesson what are the legal consequences?
