We all know about the "women in refrigerators" trope. I'm almost up to date on Arrow, and since the midseason finale where Oliver is left for dead after being defeated by R'as Al Ghul.
Oliver's disappearance seems to be the final straw to push Laurel into becoming the Canary.
Looks to me like they use an established character's death to provide extra motivation to another, very much like the trope. Do you think we could use this as an example of a "guy in a refrigerator" situation?
