My wife and I bought our first home a little over a year ago. It was built in 2011. Since we moved in, we have had trouble with light bulbs. We've blown and replaced dozens of bulbs and continue to blow more. We've had older bulbs blow (ones that were here when we moved in) but also have had bulbs blow as soon as we install them. It's not just one room, it's all over the house. It's also several different types of bulbs (incandescent, compact fluorescent, spot lights, flood lights). Even both of the bulbs in the refrigerator blew. I've checked the voltage at one point because I thought maybe it was excessive. It was 126.3 Volts. I was unable to detect any noticeable voltage spikes when turning a switch on repeatedly. I've tried cheap bulbs and expensive bulbs. Are there any specific bulbs I should look for? Would led bulbs be more resilient? Should I contact an electrician or would he just do what I've already done?
