The book is about a kid. Him and his mom live in a house that sits right on the edge of the cliff with a staircase that goes all the way down to the river. The kids in fourth grade and his teacher comes to visit/flirt with his mom, because he's not doing well in school. He gets mad because he hates his teacher and the fact his teacher has the hots for his mom. So he runs down to the river and gets in a half giant refrigerator Styrofoam package to float down the river but gets swept away down a waterfall into a cave and meets a dog. I remember most of the book but I think that's all someone would need to identify. Thanks!
