Obligatory this happened several years ago in ~2012; the other glass-related FU on the front page just jogged my memory.
One day I was reaching into the refrigerator, I somehow dropped a glass jar of jelly onto the kitchen floor in such a way that only part of the top of the jar shattered, and the jelly stayed intact inside the rest of the jar. We had another, opened jar for some reason, and thrifty college student who hastes wasted food that I was, I had the bright idea of transferring the jelly to this other container so I wouldn't have to throw it out; it was still "clean" and in the jar, right?
The FU came when I was making a PB/J sandwich as a snack later. While spreading the jelly I noticed my knife was making a strange scraping sound. I somehow convinced myself it must be stale bread; better eat it anyway before it gets any staler. Then I start eating it and hear/feel my teeth crunch on something small and rock-hard that is definitely not bread. I manage to spit it out and am intensely confused as I realize I was chewing on a shard of broken glass. How did that get in there!? It takes me a few moments to make the connection with the earlier incident, at which point I throw the jelly out for everyone's safety like I should have done in the first place. I somehow managed not to lacerate my mouth in the process.
