Help a first time buyer make a decision? Appliances

Hello, I am looking to buy a new range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. I do not really KNOW what makes a good appliance, a good appliance. What I do know is looks and price. I have decided to narrow my decisions to Home Depot's selection of samsung and kitchenaid and would like to ask y'all for your advice/opinion.
