Strange things have been happening since I moved to Korea Paranormal

I don't know if I'm crazy or if there's actually something following me. I moved to Korea last year in February and the next month was when weird stuff started. If anyone has had any similar experiences please let me know. I don't really know what to make of all of the things that have happened.

  1. This was around the beginning of March. My friend was visiting me for the weekend, we just finished lunch and he went to take my recycling out. I opened the fridge to put the drink in. I only opened the door about half way and something flew out of the door hinge area. It was pretty forceful. I looked at it after my initial wth moment and saw that it was a dime. My friend came in and I told him about it and he ended up picking it up as I was too scared (I read about djinns before coming to Korea lol). After he left I saw that it had my birth year on it. Apparently a lot of dimes were made in 1993 but still, why would a dime of all things fly out of my refrigerator in Korea? 3:/ Also, that wasn't the first time opening my refrigerator. I still have the dime and it has some weird indents in it and black marks on it that I can't get off.

  2. Early in the fall I was sitting on my bed screwing around before work when I heard a noise. Upon looking up, I saw the name tag on my suitcase in midair, like someone flicked it really hard, and then it fell back down to its original position.

  3. This one happened at my school. I was in the room that I usually teach in. I was sitting down and I went to grab my phone on my right. As I was turning that way I noticed something black down by my leg. It moved very fast and immediately after it disappeared there was a very strong, cold breeze that passed by my leg.

  4. And today I was hanging up some laundry and saw a white circular/spherical shape or figure dart behind my suitcase (different suitcase from #2). It was almost as tall as the suitcase.

I should also add that I studied abroad here a few years ago. One night the automatic light in the dorm room kept turning off and on more than normal. Every time it turned off it turned back on again. No one was close enough to it to make it go on and off that much. I was a little scared so I tried to see if my roommate was awake but unfortunately she was out cold. So I told myself it was ok and tried to go to sleep. But then I felt something drag across my abdomen right under my belly button and noped the f out of the room to call my mom. I don't think the light ever had any on/off problems again after that.

Sorry this is so long, but if you have any advice for what I should do (or if there's anything I can do) it would be much appreciated!

Biscuit tins, bananas, water droplets and black fog? A lazy poltergeist? What is a logical (and rational) explanation for all of this? Paranormal

This might be a long post, as i'll try to explain events as much as i can remember them.

  1. The flying biscuit tin lid

About 10 years ago, in the same house i am currently located in. Everyone headed up to bed. I came back down 30 minutes or so after everyone else was getting ready to sleep. I went to grab a few biscuits and a drink. I head down the stairs in the dark, turn on the living room light, walk to the kitchen, also turning on the light there. I grab myself a few biscuits from the tin on the kitchen worktop. It's located opposite from the kitchen back-door, about 3 meters away. The tin we had at the time was cubic shaped, metal and the lid would fit firmly like you would get on a tin of chocolates, almost air tight. You have to really pull on it to get the lid off. So i pour myself a drink, put the lid back on the biscuit tin securely.

I'm walking through the living room, turning the lights off on my way. I head up stairs, and when i am about halfway up... smash, twang, wallop, bang. I dropped a glass of milk on the stairs and got into some kind of defensive stance, thinking that someone just smashed in the kitchen door window. Are we being burgled? No. I hear nothing after this, as everyone else upstairs starts asking what the hell was that noise.

I head down slowly, peeking in the living room as i turn the light on. I'm petrified, expecting to see someone in a balaclava standing in the kitchen or something. I actually picked up a guitar from the living room instinctively in case i needed to defend myself. I get to the kitchen and i see nothing unusual. The glass window is still there, and the door is closed. But then my eyes snap towards to floor, right next to the back door. The biscuit tin lid is sat there upside down, and there is a new mark on the door (assuming the lid had hit the door).

I remember just staring at it for almost a minute in silence, as i was VERY confused. I know i placed the lid back on the tin properly, there is no way it could have rolled, or the fact that the lid could not have even fallen in the first place. My mom comes down at this point. Probably about 80-90 seconds or so after the loud crashing noise occurred.

I'm explaining what happened frantically, and how the lid is located where it is. I'm still standing where i was first looking at it being on the floor. She heads over to it, also freaking out a bit, but goes to pick it up, saying "that's odd". She immediately drops the lid in shock when grabbing it, because it is freezing cold, i could see the condensation reappear where her hand had just grabbed it. I then put my hand on it, and it was ice cold as if it had been in the refrigerator.

Confused, that was the end of that. This only ever happened once, but that lid flew off of the tin, travelled across the kitchen, and smashed into the door just below the glass window. There is no other explanation as to what caused the noise (and the mark on the door).

  2. Black smoke / fog

A few months after the stray biscuit tin lid, i had trouble staying asleep one night, so i came back to browse the web on my laptop at about 4:00am. I had just booted up Windows Vista, and i'm repositioning my legs, when i notice the floor feels cold. I leaned down and put my hand onto the carpet, but it's fairly warm. Yet my wrist felt cold, along with my shins. I couldn't feel a draft, but it was like the temperature dramatically dropped a small distance above the floor. I didn't think much of it really.

About 10-15 minutes later, i remember putting my hand on my chin as i was thinking of a math problem, when i suddenly had that "you're being watched feeling". My eyes unfocused from the laptop, and i see something in the corner of my eye to my right. Across the other side of the living room, behind the television in the corner was a black blob, i instinctively turned my head, and saw a dark black fog, mist or ball of smoke. It appeared as a tangled mass, almost like string, but whispy like smoke. As i looked into it across the room, it seemed to go up and into the wall near the ceiling. From the time i looked at it, and when it had disappeared was no longer than 3 seconds.

My initial thoughts, i was confused, but i stood up and immediately checked the back of the television outlets, to see if something had blown. Maybe a fuse or something had caused a puff of smoke? I had no idea. But as i walked over to the TV, i noticed that same coldness again, except it was higher up. I put my hands on the wall where this "smoke" was visible, and the wall had a cold patch to the touch. This freaked me out for a while, but i went back over to my laptop and that was that.

I only recall seeing this mist/smoke on this one occasion.

  3. The flying banana

This happened 2 years ago. I was watching TV late in the evening, flicking through channels out of boredom. I'm in the living room. My dad was on the PC just behind me on the other side of the couch. We had a fruitbowl on a small cupboard in the centre of the front windows of the house, where the TV is just to the right of this. At the time we had about 3 or 4 bananas in the fruitbowl.

My dad periodically turns his head to see what's on the TV as you do. So we're both looking at the TV. A banana flies up and out of the fruitbowl, about 10 inches above the rim, and then lands on the floor. I started laughing, because my dad actually started to say "what the fuck", before i could even process what had just happened.

A banana, impossibly jumped out of the fruitbowl, and cleared at least 1 meter away from the cabinet/cupboard the bowl was placed on. This baffles me, because we both saw it. The fruitbowl was not stacked nor full, and there is no way that banana could have just done what it did.

We still laugh about this whenever it comes up, because it is ridiculous and no one believes it, yet we both saw it happen.

  4. Water droplets

Over the years amongst these events going on, you will at times feel a drop of water land on you, or see one appear on the desk, worktop, or any place really. I believe this is what people call "phantom droplets". Multiple people have noticed this, from family, to visitors. It's like a single drop of rain indoors, but you can never find the source of it. You'd assume there is a leak in the ceiling, but there is never any source to it when actually looking for it.

These are the things that stand out the most of any weird things going on in this house. There are other events, such as hearing muffled coughs or wheezing, but we have no idea if they were just echoing coming from the walls of the neighbours, or something outside. Sometimes small items go missing, but then they reappear in the same place within minutes. This often happens when you are alone in the house, and others have said this has also happened to them fairly often. At a glance, it probably sounds like classic poltergeist activity. But the thing is, it's over long periods of time between noticeable events.

I personally do not believe in poltergeists, ghosts, telekinesis or whatever paranormal explanation anyone has for this, because there is no way to be sure. It has just really baffled me in an amusing way living in this house all these years. I thought i'd share this, because earlier today the water droplets started again. Two other people in the house today mentioned it.

I have on occasion setup a camera, or a microphone when something noticeably odd has happened, but i have never caught anything at all.

What is a valid explanation for all of this?

Three stories I have STILL have no explanation for Paranormal

My Nana once told me a story about when I was around 4 or 5 years old. I was standing on her cellar doors in the backyard and facing her house "talking a mile a minute" she said. She asked me who I was talking to and I pointed at nothing and said "that man, Nana". She brushed it off as an imaginary friend for the time being. Later when I came inside from playing on the backyard I pointed to a picture on her refrigerator, it was her husband who had passed away before I was born, and said that's the man I was talking to. I have no recollection of this but it creeps me out to think about it.

This experience was first hand and happened in June. I was staying in a hospital and it as my last night there. It was around 2am and I still couldn't sleep. My roommate was passed out around 8pm because of a surgery and sleeping meds she had earlier. She was dead asleep. I had been laying in bed head on pillow and two blankets over me. So finally I decided to go the counter and ask for a sleeping medicine they'll give you that I had originally denied. But when I got back to my room my pillow was upright and against the side wall instead of up against the head board. This was really confusing because I knew for a fact my head was just on the pillow and not against the wall. My roommate was still dead asleep, hooked up to an IV, and snoring loud.

In the 8th grade I was sitting in my bedroom one night reading when I started to hear an almost recorder sound that wasnt coming from outside my room, it sounded 3 feet away from me. For a few seconds I was confused then my heart kinda dropped when I thought about the Indian flute on my side desk. This Indian flute was the last thing my da ever bought from me before he passed away when I was in the third grade. Out of confusion, fear and irrationality I immediately snapped the wooden flute in half and the noise stopped. To this day I do regret and hate that I broke the flute when it had such sentimental value to me but i panicked at the unknown I suppose.

[Experience] Things keep falling off desk and end table in my Chicago apartment. Paranormal

I've been lurking here for years in r/paranormal. My wife recently left me and I've been going through a very stressful time in a brand new city by myself.

It's a small studio apartment in the Lakeview neighborhood. I have no idea about the history of the building or the specific apartment. I haven't felt anything in terms of a presence or a feeling of being watched.

I noticed that when I've had a stressful day and I'm in a bad mood is when things happen. I had a hard day at work the other night, and a stressful conversation with my wife before I went to bed. She had been threatening to kill herself, and was spiraling, causing me extreme stress and anxiety.

I fell asleep around 1 AM, and woke up a couple hours later to shuffling noises in the kitchen. Like somebody pacing back and forth. A half full beer can then fell off the counter, startling me. I went and investigated, looking for signs of a mouse. There was nothing. I moved the refrigerator, and it's a tiny kitchen, so I feel like I would be able to hear or see something. No rat poop, nothing. I dismissed it and chalked it up to a very sneaky rat.

The next day, I got off work and took a shower. While I was in the bathroom, my wife called and texted constantly, thinking something was wrong apparently. I heard the phone ringing from the shower on the third or fourth call, and got out of the shower. As soon as I stepped out, I heard a loud plastic crashing noise like someone had slammed their phone on the ground and then kicked it. I went out to look, and my phone was still sitting on the charger. I've never heard any racket from other apartments in my building. The walls are solid and thick, and the sound clearly came from my apartment. It was very loud and clear.

Things like this have been happening when I'm stressed or worried. I just hear random things fall off the desk or end tables and find nothing. My apartment is clean and nothing sits close enough to the edges of my surfaces to fall on their own. When these things happen, I get an eerie feeling, like a person did it. I get scared in a bone-chilling way.

Feel free to leave suggestions or theories. Just thought I'd leave this here because I don't know who else to tell.

Door opening. No explanation. Old Swedish train station. Paranormal

Southern Sweden, I live in a livestock barn on an old strain station that's about 100years old. But the train stopped going here long time ago like 60years or something like that. The barn is quite small and has been converted to a living space with 3 rooms. There is no electricity other than 3 solar panels for the refrigerator and a led light. No water system other than a well and a hand pump outside. I cook my food on a propane stove and heating is done with propane as well.

Yesterday(2017-10/06) I live and sleep in the kitchen amd keep all other doors closed to conserve heat. I went in to the big bedroom(that I never use) to get a spare lighter and on my way out I almost forgot to close the door, but I felt the cold floor and remembered. Later in the evening I'm on my way out, and to get out i need to go passed the bedroom door and now it's open. I'm first stunned, then I remembered that I was in there a couple hours ago and dismissed it because I might not have closed it properly. I then took extra precautions to make sure its closed and tried to push it open with out moving the door handle. It's closed for real now. I go out and come back inside and nothing has changed.

I make dinner and go to sleep. I wake up and it's still closed. I then go to work and when I came back 6hours later the door was open again.

I can't explain it. This property has been in my fathers family for 60 years mainly as a summer house. We have have some small paranormal stories in our family. Small like, a drinking glass moved on a restaurant maybe 15cm, and doors opening and closing in my parents apartment whenever they did not keep a old clock on the wall. Also my grandmother on my fathers side would sometimes start talking to someone that was not in the house. And my father would always ask who she's talking to and then she would be surprised the person she greeted was not there. Then maybe 5 minutes later the same person she talked to would come home or if not family come visit. And this was about 30 years ago, so before cellphones and all that. When she later passed away with lung cancer I was about 2 years old. They called from the hospital and said she had become so sick that she might not make it. So my father traveled to the hospital. It's just me and my mom at home and I'm sleeping. Mom heard something weird coming from my bedroom and she went inside, and there I was in my bed, but I didn't sleep. Was was sitting straight up and was saying goodbye to someone. And then just fell asleep again. One hour later dad called from the hospital and told mom that his mother had passed away. And apparently the time of passing was about the same time I had sat up and said goodbye. I was just 2 years old and have no memory of this.

I'm not deterred by such paranormal things, I'm more interested in what it could be or mean. If there is some paranormal phenomena causing this I want to know more. Considering making contact somehow.

Don't know if this is the right place to post this but would appreciate some advise. :)

New moons and food offerings Paranormal

Just as a quick preface -- I moved to Ukraine a year ago and have been living in a small town with a host family. The house I live in is not very old, and was built for the family I live with.

My host mother, who is a very religious 40-something year old woman, went out of town recently. This is the first time I've ever been in the house alone since I moved here. She was very worried about leaving me alone, mostly because she thought I wouldn't eat enough, but I assured her that I would be fine. Before leaving, she told me that on September 20th I should leave out some bread with butter and a cup of warm milk. I thought this was a very strange and specific request and assumed I misunderstood her since I still don't know the language very well. The next morning when I went downstairs to the kitchen, the wooden storage container where we keep bread was opened and there were bread crumbs everywhere. It looked like someone had just pulled off large chunks of bread from the loaf with their hands. I also noticed that the refrigerator, which has a very strong latch, was left opened. I tried not to think too much about this and convinced myself that one of the cats was responsible (even though there's no way they could open the bread container, despite how sneaky and clever they are) and that I had probably absentmindedly forgotten to latch the door.

When I got to school that day, I told one of the teachers I work with what had happened and she, very matter-of-factly, told me that such occurrences are common in the homes on my street. Apparently during WW2 there was a small Jewish population in my town and the majority of them lived on my street and in the areas surrounding my street. The Jewish people in my town were killed by the Nazis in 1943 and their homes and the synagogue were burned to the ground.

This information intrigued me, yet also made me very unsettled. I reached out to my host mother's daughter, who moved out of the house a few months before I moved here, and told her about what happened. She was not surprised, and told me stories about hearing footsteps on the stairs late at night, hearing noises in the kitchen, food going missing or being found in strange locations, and the cats playing with thin air. She also said that, from as far back as she could remember, her mom would periodically leave food offerings in the kitchen.

While I feel like most of those things have logical explanations, I find it strange that every night since the new moon I've woken up abruptly at 3:00 AM on the dot. I'm an incredibly deep sleeper and have the abnormal ability of sleeping through anything (Bruce Springsteen concert, football game, you name it). I suppose it's possible that this information is now ingrained in my subconscious and my body is reacting to it in this way. But after waking up at this time, I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't alone in my room and I found it difficult to go back to sleep.

I've never had a paranormal experience before, and I guess I just feel a bit uneasy about even the idea that there could be someone/something paranormal living in the house with me. I've always been interested in the paranormal, but only from afar. Even though it seems that I have nothing to worry about, I now have this heightened sense of awareness and alertness and it's hard for me to relax in the house. So if anyone has any suggestions about how to coexist with the paranormal, I'd greatly appreciate them.

My apartment seems to have a 3rd occupant... Paranormal

Posted on another subreddit, I think it belongs here.

Anyway, all of this started a little over 2 years ago in July 2015. It was Independence Day and I had just gotten out of the shower. All of a sudden I hear the television blaring, I just figured my DVR had stopped the movie I was playing and switched over to the television. I walk into the living room to turn the volume down and I realize that the DVR is still paused and that it's the television in my bedroom that has come on. I figured it's busted and turn it off and go back into the bathroom. About 5 minutes later, it comes on again. What the hell? This proceeds to happen 3 more times, I say a prayer and it stops and I forget about it.

Fast forward about a month later, I walk inside to the television a few more days. I freak out and unplug the thing and challenge the presence (if there is one) to plug the sucker back in if they want to watch television, it never happens again.

A little less than a year later in June 2016, I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep. I have a dream about my grandfather, who passed in 2013. Now, mind you I was 6 months pregnant at the time so weird dreams tend to happen during that time. As I wake up, I see someone walk from my closet to the edge of my bed and sit for a few seconds, I can see the indentation as if someone is sitting there, I smile and say, "hi paw-paw" and go back to sleep.

My next "encounter" came in September 2016, my baby boy was a month old and his father (we'll call him B) had gone out to get some food. This is more his experience than mine because I really had no part. B says as he goes to turn the knob, he hears the door lock and the porch light turns off. As I'm coming from the back room our conversation goes as follows: B: That wasn't funny Me: What wasn't funny? B: Why did you lock the door and turn off the light? Me: Huh, I was in the back with the baby and I just walked to the front as you were opening the door. B: Yeah, whatever, you ran to the back when you heard me. Me: I promise I was in the back with the baby. B: rolls eyes whatever

Now mind you I had just had a C-section about a month earlier, so I wasn't running anywhere. I had just put the baby down and was walking to the front to greet him. So, I have no idea who did this, but, to this very day, he doesn't believe it wasn't me.

My most recent encounter was just this week. Sunday night (Monday morning), I went to bed around midnight, I woke up at about 2 am and saw that my bathroom light was on. I got up and turned it off, shrugged it off and thought I had left it on when I went to bed, whatever. Last night, I went to bed and as I'm carrying my baby to bed I'm turning off every light, I remember turning off the kitchen light because I doubled back to the kitchen to put something into the refrigerator and went to bed. I also remember looking at my door and never saw a light as I turned over. At about 1 am, I wake up and I spot a light. I sit there frozen because it's only my son and me in the house. I sit and wait for someone to come in and nothing. I get up to go check the house and see nothing. I get so scared and call B. He says he's on his way. He gets there about 5 minutes later, with his gun, and checks the house, nothing. I can't fall asleep. He lies on the sofa to fall asleep. At about 3 am, I finally drift off. I wake up at 5 and just lay there, a few seconds later, I hear a knock at the door and jump up. I run to the door and look out the window, and there's no one there. I wake B up to ask him if he heard the knock, he's groggy and he sees my face and fully awakens and asks, what's wrong, I ask him if he heard the knock, he says, no. I never go back to sleep.

Now I don't know what's going on. The only one I can't explain away is the locking door and light turning off. At the moment I'm a little afraid to go home, but since Casper hasn't been hostile, I probably will. Anyway, thanks for reading.

Frequent encounters with a ghost as a kid. Paranormal

This is a story I've wanted to tell for a while, every-time I've told it I've been laughed at and my story was disregarded, this is what happened to the best of my recollection.

When I was between six and eight my family and I moved into an apartment in a small town, it was a simple two apartment setup, we had neighbors but rarely ever spoke to them, they didn't stay long because the landlord wanted a lot of money for rent and it's not the nicest area to live in, so after awhile of neighbors coming and going the landlord said he'd raise the rent by around two hundred a month and we could take out the three boarded doors separating the two apartments. one was in the living room, middle bedrooms, and closet type room between the back bedroom and kitchen

Now to the encounters, they started before we opened up the apartment into one house, and I wasn't the only one who experienced anything.

The first few times I seen her she was a full blue apparition, she always wore an old time dress, which I guess is normal for ghosts to not change appearance please correct me if I'm wrong and it would always happen at night when I was laying in bed, it started with a knock on the window in my room, I would see her walk across the room into the boarded up door and would then become a blue fog on the wall and disappear, other nights it would be footsteps in the back bedroom which was beside mine that connected to the kitchen. things got weird when we opened up the rooms, the room beside mine became my play room where I had all my toys in it. I had a wine barrel that was converted into a chest that I kept all my toys in, It had a latch on it which is why I felt it was right to include this.

My dad wasn't the nicest person in the world and my brother usually stayed with my mom so it was me and my dad, some nights you could hear the chest open or the toys that were in the room were moved and some of them made noise, on these nights my dad got angry and would yell and throw things towards my play room it hit the wall between the living room and my bedroom telling me to go to bed because he could hear the noise, he never believed me when I told him it wasn't me, and he didn't believe me until I got a bank toy that was a small model of a bank and vault, the vault had an alarm on it and made noise it was a small set and was flat, but the vault was a separate piece that slid and locked into the set, there was a lever or button on top you had to move or push to get it to open, but opening it made the alarm go off until you shut it, one night I was in bed and heard the footsteps, they woke me up and I heard the set start to move, my dad apparently heard it too *the living room was beside the play room, just the opposite side I will do a crude drawing of the floor plan if wanted and he started to yell so I ran into the living room and he asked why I was playing with my toys and then he heard the alarm go off, he looked terrified, I remember his eyes widening and he acted calm as he put them up, nothing major happened for awhile, small things happened when I played, like my cars would stop when I pushed them and roll back to me with force, and sometimes when I was in my bedroom playing my game a toy car would roll into the room, this didn't happen much but enough to the point I remember it and that it happened quite a few times, on to the breaking point, one night it was late and my dad was in the living room as usual and as it was a school night I was in bed, we heard a loud bang and I yelled for him, he heard it too and went to see what it was, it was the back bedroom behind mine he walked into there and nothing was missing or misplaced, he proceeded into the kitchen and got himself something to drink and on his way back the refrigerator opened, he shut it and was walking through the back bedroom and then there was a loud banging noise on the bed, he said he felt something looking at him and it freaked him out, as he walked through my room the lock on the window was being moved, not really moved but was like somebody had their hand on it and was sliding it back and fourth without actually unlocking it, at this point he was genuinely freaked out and we went to my grandmas, things like that kept happening for around two weeks, his drinks would slide off his table, the windows in his room When he finally got it, he slept on the couch so me and my brother would have our own room until we opened up the apartment would move at night like somebody was putting force on it trying to raise it, but it was locked so it was the sound of the lock smacking itself for a few times, the TV would turn on, small things like that became ever more common, we moved not long after the activity started picking up, I think the place isn't lived in now, I ride past when I have to go to the other side of town and the yard is grown up and the house looks like it's falling in.

I will be here to ask questions for awhile and some tomorrow, I have the login to this throwaway saved so I can login to check every so often, feel free to ask anything and I will try my best to answer your questions.

The beige ape man Paranormal

I am new to reddit so i am sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. This story happend when I was around 8 years old (I am older than that now) when my family was living in a small house next to some woods. First some details: when youu walk into the house there was a living room area approx 192 square feet and then the kitchen which was like 100 sq ft and a broom closet and pantry and refrigerator and stove and dishwasher and microwave and then if you go down the hall in the other direction it leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms. I had gotten home from school and was tired from all the standardized testing that does not account for all children being unique learners and terrible with numbers, so I decided to lay down on my bed. I had been laying their motionless for a couple hours but I don't think I was asleep or dreaming. Suddenly my door burst open and there was a medium sized beige colored ape man standing in my doorway. He hooted at me and launched himself across the room (about 12 feet) at me. He grabbed me and lifted me with his leathery palms above his big head and started spinning me around like he was making a pizza and I was the dough. As he was doing this he said something like, "Ain't this a damn thing to happen" I can't really remember exactly, but I remember he kind of whispered the word "damn" when he said it like a little kid would who had never cursed before or was afraid an adult would hear it. Then he tossed me about 11 feet across the room and I landed under the little TV cabinet near my dresser. The ape man banged around a little and then eventually left. I should have mentioned the only other person in the house at the time was my stepfather but he was in the spare bedroom taking a nap and it didn't really look like him either. What do you guys think it was?

It wasn't sleep paralysis... Paranormal

This is a long one but I promise it is worth the read. I joined Reddit just so I had a place to share this experience:

It was April of 2011 on Good Friday, two days before Easter. I was living in a two bedroom apartment in a college town with one roommate, my best friend at the time. He and I had a very tumultuous relationship and I was dealing with a lot of personal things as well... you know, trying to figure out life.

The apartment was very, very affordable. Like absurdly affordable... which I still don't understand. I never felt comfortable in it. I'm not sure if it was just from all the negative energy culminating in that time of my life or what. But everyone that came over said the place had an uncomfortable energy (some had a few minor experiences other than this one).

Anyway, I wake up early in the morning on Good Friday because I think I hear my front door open and close. My roommate often spent nights out with hookups and would come home the following day and come in my room to talk to me. So I am laying in bed awake with my eyes closed waiting for the usual routine. You know how you can feel when someone else's energy is in close proximity to you? It FELT like someone was in the apartment.

So I am pinpointing the feeling as it moves through the living room, passed the kitchen and down the long hallway toward the bedrooms. Mine is the first bedroom you get to, there's a bathroom across the hall from me and his bedroom and bath are at the end of the hall. I feel a presence stop outside the threshold of my door briefly, then cross into the room. A pressure settles on the end of my bed like someone sitting down.

All of this is typical when my friend would come home after being out. I'm still laying there awake, eyes closed, waiting for him to say something. I'm waiting... not alarmed yet. I feel the pressure on the end of the bed slide up the mattress toward me, like a hand firmly tracing the sheets.

Suddenly, there was an immense, crushing pressure on my chest like someone jumped and straddled me down. I could barely move and I couldn't speak. I kept trying to yell out for my friend who I still thought was somewhere in the apartment (but he wasn't... he hadn't come home yet). I tried opening my eyes but the most they would do is flutter. This allowed me to only see a sliver of what was happening to me. I felt this sense of overwhelming doom like something was attacking me and I was going to die.

From what I could make out through my panicked eyes looked like a dark cloud above me. Not black, but definitely smoky. I tried with everything I could muster to push this force off of me or to move or cry out. Anything. Nothing worked.

With as much conviction I think I have ever had I thought, "Go away. GO AWAY. Leave me alone. Please God help me. Help me." The second I did that the feeling completely dissipated and I jumped out of bed and started packing my bags. I was supposed to drive to my parent's house to celebrate Easter anyway but definitely not that early. I HAD to leave that apartment.

As I was packing, I called my boyfriend and go, "I don't know how to explain this to you... but there is someone in my apartment!" and he goes, "WHAT?! What do you mean???" I repeat, "I know I sound crazy right now but you have to believe me. You know I don't make things up. Something is in my apartment and held me down on the bed... but I can't see it." As I am recounting the experience to him, the electricity in his apartment shuts off leaving him complete darkness. All electronics, refrigerator, everything stops and he is in complete silence with me hysterical on the phone. He lived in a city an hour and half away. So he gets a little unnerved but surely it's a coincidence...

FAST FORWARD:

I get to my parent's house and I tell them what happened. Easter comes, big family gathering, I tell everyone else what happened. Of course, nobody believes me. Everyone thinks I was dreaming or had a bout of sleep paralysis. I understand how sufferers of sleep paralysis have experienced similar things to my story. I researched it. My issue with this is: 1) I have never before or after this particular event had sleep paralysis 2) I know without a doubt in my mind that I was awake 3) This wasn't the first time weird stuff happened at this apartment

Sunday night comes and I have to go back home to this apartment. My parents also live over an hour away so I don't get home until late that night - stupid on my part since I'm already creeped out. I'm on the phone with my bf while I walk up to the place. All the lights are off, meaning my roommate is out for the night again.

As I unlock the front door I get this immense wave of fear and I tell my bf that I had this overwhelming sense that my cell phone was going to die once I walked into the apartment. He says that I'm just being paranoid/overreacting/overly scared/etc. and it'll be fine. I walk into the apartment, illuminated only by the small light above me in the entryway. The living room light was in a very stupid spot (the center of the entire apartment) which meant that you had to walk through the huge living room in the dark to get to it. I get halfway through the living room.

My phone shuts completely off.

Dead.

It feels like 100 eyes are suddenly watching me.

I run to the light switch, throw it on and spend the rest of the night in the corner on my sectional couch which was situated the furthest from the bedrooms and back part of the apartment. To this day, nobody really seems to believe me and my bf doesn't like to talk about it because he thinks it invites negative energy.

I would LOVE it if anyone had any similar encounters or thoughts on this experience.

Doppelgänger Follow-Up Paranormal

It's been three days since I've last seen the supposed doppelgänger, and I feel pretty confident that I'll never see it again (I hope). I'm sorry I couldn't deliver with images or juicy details, but for my safety I think it's better this way. Concerning the belief that doppelgängers are heralds of death, the real girl is fine and 100% not dying.

In (hopefully) unrelated news: I had a concerning conversation with my father this morning. The dialogue will appear slightly awkward because I've translated him from patois/patwah for clarity.

"Look what we have here! Next time, could you please NOT unplug my phone? I thought we had an agreement: I don't touch your property if you don't touch mine, is this incorrect?"

"You know I don't touch your stuff, and I just woke up, like, ten minutes ago."

"But you did plug in your PS4 controller; the flashing light means it was connected less than two hours ago. (Insert profanity here)! And what happened to your fro? It was all shaped when you were here earlier."

"Like I said, I just woke up. I haven't picked it yet. I don't know what happened, or what you saw, but it wasn't me.

"(Insert profanity here)..."

I'll give this event the benefit of the doubt, and say it was a stress-induced hallucination. In the past month we've lost our air conditioning, washing machine, microwave, and refrigerator. He has plenty reason to be stressed. On the other hand, perhaps I'm a sleepwalker, did my hair, and went back to bed. I'll bet on these explanations before anything paranormal. For now.

The Haunting on Kerns Avenue~Also posted on YourGhostStories Paranormal

I've shared this story before, so if it sounds familiar to anyone that is the reason. Also, I'm sorry it is so long.~

The Haunting on Kerns Avenue

There are some things in my life that have terrified me. Things I could never explain. They just happened. I guess that's par for the course when you are dealing with the supernatural.

I will share some of our family's experiences with you in this post. I cannot offer any concrete explanations on why they happened to me and my family. Only that they did.

The events I am sharing here began in November 1967. I had recently celebrated my twelfth birthday just before we moved into the house on Kerns Avenue.

We were thrilled when we found this wonderful house for rent at a very reasonable price. It was a huge three bedroom home, with a park directly across the street.

My two sisters and I would share a bedroom, and my brother would have his own bedroom for the first time in his young life. He had always had to sleep on the sofa until now. So he, of course, was deliriously happy. This soon changed once we came to realize that the house was haunted.

Since I was the oldest, I helped the most with the unpacking. I made trip after trip up the stairs to place things in their new spaces.

My parent's room was to the right as you reached the upstairs landing. My brother Billy's room was the first bedroom as you turned left at the stair landing.

We girls had the bedroom at the very end of the hall down from Billy's room. All of our bedrooms had huge walk in closets. My sisters and I laughed at how much our new bedroom resembled a hospital infirmary. I took the bed nearest the walk in closet. Big mistake! Although I didn't know it then.

We finally finished the bulk of our unpacking and it soon came time to go to bed. That's when the strange and eerie events began. They started innocently enough.

My parents heard footsteps of someone coming up the stairs. They thought that one of us kids had gone downstairs to the refrigerator or something. Mom called out to see which one of us it was. But no one answered.

The footsteps stopped right outside of their bedroom at the top of the stair landing.

Mom and Dad both sat up in their beds and looked out the doorway, but they saw no one. After convincing each other that it must be the sounds of the house "settling" they finally fell asleep. The following morning our parents asked if we had left our beds in the night and gone downstairs. None of us had. It spooked us though when they told us they had heard someone on the stairs.

One night in December, my parents sent us to bed early. They stayed downstairs to watch TV for awhile. They often stayed up late because they enjoyed watching the Johnny Carson show.

As I laid there in my bed next to that closet, an event occurred which terrified me. I was the only one awake in the room at the time--my two sisters were already asleep. Lucky them!

As I laid there, I began to hear a faint sound of musical notes playing. At first, it sounded far off in the distance. Then it became louder and sounded closer to me.

I looked around in the dark in puzzlement, when it dawned on me that the sounds were coming from the closet beside my bed. Chills ran up my spine! I listened as the sound became louder by the second. I felt as if whoever or whatever was making the sound, knew it had my total attention. I was frozen in fear.

The sound coming from the closet was tinny. The best way I can describe it is that it sounded like someone was plucking on nails that stuck out of a wall. It was being done in such a way as to make a melody. It wasn't an unpleasant tune. It's just that it wasn't supposed to be happening at all!

Finally, I was able to move. I bolted out of that bed and ran downstairs to where my parents were. I was crying hysterically by this time, and it took me a few minutes to compose myself enough to be able to relay to my parents what was happening.

My parents went upstairs with me to check the closet. Well, daddy did the checking. Mom and I stayed closer to the bedroom door. Wouldn't you know it, though? The room was now quiet. No musical notes wafting out of the closet. Nothing out of the ordinary was there at all. Dad told me to come look for myself. I inched my way towards the closet to take a look inside. Nothing. Nobody was playing musical nails.

My parents tried to convince me that I had been dreaming and I just thought it was real. They wouldn't listen to reason as I tried to convey to them that I had not fallen asleep that night. In frustration, I gave up and finally agreed with them. I mean, it was pointless to argue with them that a seventh-grader knew the difference between a dream and reality.

If I had been dreaming, which I was not; I would hope that my subconscious mind would be clever enough to come up with a more appropriate musical instrument than nails. A guitar, or a piano perhaps? Heck, why not a kazoo? My parents went back downstairs after tucking me in. There I was--all alone again in the dark. My sisters had slept through the entire concert.

As soon as I was finally about to drift off to sleep, the musical nail sounds began once more. This time, I screamed!! My sisters woke up then, I made sure of that!

My parents came running to our room. They were pretty upset with me at this point because by this time the music had stopped once more.

I begged them to let me sleep in their room. They wouldn't hear of it. They did make one consolation, though. They asked my sister on the far side of the room to switch beds with me. Mary didn't mind. She's a sound sleeper anyway. Of course, no one ever heard the sounds that night except for me. Ghosts seem to take a special delight in making you appear loopy to your family and friends.

Luckily, the rest of that night passed uneventfully. A few nights later, though, it would be my brother Billy's turn to appear loopy. Billy was asleep in his room when he began to hear a soft moaning sound coming from his closet. As he listened he heard the moaning become louder. I knew what that was like! But what caused him to bolt from his room in terror, was the sound of his matchbox car collection being hurled onto the closet floor by some unseen force.

Billy loved his matchbox car collection. He kept them "parked" neatly on the closet shelf. So, you can imagine the fear he felt when he heard them all crash onto the floor. Especially since no one was in the closet. At least no one that any of us could see. In Billy's case, I envied him slightly. He had undeniable proof that something or someone had been in his closet. His matchbox cars were all over his closet floor, in total disarray.

By this time my siblings and I had come to understand that there was something not quite right about our new house.

We began asking other kids in the neighborhood if anything strange had ever happened in that house. We learned from the neighborhood children that a man had died there many years before.

The rumors were that he had a brain tumor and suffered much pain. Hy died in what was now my brother's bedroom. Billy was ready then to give up his bedroom and sleep on the couch once again. My parents wouldn't allow that. They tried telling us that the neighborhood kids were pulling our leg.

We knew that even if no one had died in our house of a brain tumor, that didn't mean that Something hadn't happened there that caused our house to be haunted.

I would have thought that our parents would have been the first ones to realize that the house was indeed haunted. Both of them had seen ghosts quite recently before we moved in. Dad had his ghostly encounter the November before.

My Grandma died suddenly and we left to go to Maryland for her funeral. We stayed in my grandparents home that night of Grandma's death.

My mother was downstairs with her sisters and brothers and their spouses. They were trying to comfort Granddad and one another over the sudden loss of their mother.

Daddy slept upstairs just outside of two bedrooms where we and some of our cousins slept that night. There was a bed set up on the upstairs landing. I suppose it was a sort of loft. Daddy couldn't sleep, so he decided to sit up and smoke a cigarette. Now you young and impressionable people out there--do not try this at home.

Dad told us later that as he sat there smoking, he heard someone coming up the stairs. He waited to see who it was. He got quite a shock! It was Grandma! She spoke to daddy, saying "Everyone thinks I'm gone, but I'm still here." She then vanished before his eyes. Needless to say, daddy didn't get any sleep that night!

Mom had her ghostly encounter the summer before we moved to Kern's Avenue. My parents were fighting, and my mom went out on the porch to cool down. It was just after midnight. We lived in what they call a "holler." Meaning it's totally in the boonies!

There were no street lights within a 20-mile radius of this place that the locals called "Dry Holler." On moonless nights you could literally not even see your hand held in front of your face. It was eerie! I hated living there.

Mountain Lions would come down off the mountain and rummage through our garbage at night, looking for food. Oh, sorry--back to the ghost.

Mom was sitting out on the porch when she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. She looked over and saw a man walking towards her. She thought she recognized him as a neighbor who also lived farther in the hollow. She spoke to him asking, "Frank, what are you doing out here so late in the night?" As she asked this, he walked right through our car bumper and vanished! Mom screamed! All of us kids woke up terrified! Mom told us later that he seemed to have been dressed in an old Civil War uniform. That made sense since this was Virginia and all.

So, you would think that my parents would have been keen to the possibility that we had a problem haunting, right from the get go. Maybe they did understand this. They probably didn't quite know how to handle the situation, though. I mean, they had never had to contend with a ghost actually in our house.

Soon thereafter, I had my own ghostly encounter. I saw the one and only ghost that I hope to have to see in my lifetime. I was still the proud owner of the bed across the room. You know, the one that was as far as I could get from that closet.

It was the middle of the night when this event occurred. If I had to guess at the time, I'd say it was about an hour before dawn. I was awakened by something. At first, I didn't understand exactly what it was that woke me. All I knew was that I had been asleep, but now I was wide awake and my senses were on high alert. It was a feeling I will never forget.

I had a distinct knowledge that I was being watched. I then heard something rustle within the darkness. I discreetly looked over at the doorway, and stared straight at the personification of terror and evil!

There in the doorway stood someone looking in at us as we slept. This person watching the three of us was dressed in an odd long flowing, dark hooded robe. His body was so tall and large that he filled the entire doorway with his presence. My mind was filled with many thoughts as well as questions. Thoughts and questions I would never dare give voice to as this entity stood there watching me in the night.

I wondered why this presence was there. To me, he seemed to be the personification of the Grim Reaper even though he wasn't holding a scythe. I pondered his dress and realized that the rustling I had heard had come from the movement of his clothing. He seemed to be more of a thing than a human being. I never once thought that he was someone who had broken into our home. I knew intuitively that this being was not of this world.

The most unsettling thing was the feeling that I was looking at something that was purely evil. This heavy sense of evil emanated from him. I believe to this day that the mere presence of such an evil entity was what caused me to awaken. I was frightened to the very core of my being. I couldn't run from the room because this thing blocked the doorway! His silhouette didn't allow for too much light to enter around his being.

As I laid there and watched him, I realized that he never moved. He stood stock-still. I wondered if he was aware of the fact that I was awake and that I was looking at him. The darkness was so thick that I couldn't see any facial features whatsoever. I could only determine that the color of his hooded robe was a dark brown.

Finally, I did the only thing I could do. I covered my head with my covers and began to pray the Lord's Prayer. I dared not pray aloud as I didn't want this being to know that I was awake and had witnessed his presence. I laid there quietly pondering how I would get out of this room alive. When I ventured a peek, much later, thankfully it was gone.

After he had left, sunrise began to filter into our house. I ran to my parents' room seeking comfort and assurance that the evil entity I had seen would never return. My parents listened to me as I told them what I had experienced as this entity had been there just mere moments ago. I hadn't returned to sleep that night. After seeing this evil entity, I was left with the question that I never shared with anyone. Was this evil entity truly the Grim Reaper and if he was, who had he come for? That question haunted me throughout the time we lived there.

After the visitation of this evil entity, things began to worsen in our home. My dad and mom understood that we definitely had a problem. They were continuously being awakened by footsteps coming up the stairs at night. Daddy even stood at the top of the stairs to wait for the person making all of the noise.

One night, he said that he felt coldness pass through him as the footfalls made their way to the landing where he stood watch.

Our mother became so afraid of being alone when dad went to work and we kids went off to school. She would say that she would be upstairs making up the beds when she would hear the sound of a man moaning. She said that it would follow her into all of the bedrooms and even into the bathroom. She finally began to stay downstairs until we came home from school.

What convinced my parents to move though was this event. I suppose it was the straw that broke the camel's back:

Mom had a neighbor friend over one morning for coffee. Brenda lived two doors down from us. Mom decided to walk her to her house when she left. Mom didn't go inside her house, she just stayed on the sidewalk. Therefore, our house was always in Mom's view.

No one had entered it--from the front anyway.

When Mom got back to the house, she heard music coming from inside. It sounded as if someone had turned a radio on. Mom reached for the storm glass screen door to go inside. The door was locked. From the inside.

Mom had clearly not locked it before stepping out to walk Brenda home. Mom believed that someone had actually broken in, and was, in fact, still in our house. She ran down to Brenda's house and they called the police. When the police arrived, they found a window unlocked. One of the police officers used that window to get inside.

The officer opened up the front door for Mom to come inside. They went throughout the entire house. Nothing was missing. No more music played. No one was in the house. There was no explanation for any of it. No earthly one anyway!

Finally, the day came for us to move out. We were so happy to be leaving this frightening place. We learned from neighbors that we had stayed longer than previous tenants who had rented the house before us. We stayed for all of six months.

Only once after moving away did I return to visit a friend on Kerns Avenue. She had invited me to spend the night. My friend also wanted to introduce me to her new friend who now lived in our previous house.

I was a bit apprehensive as we approached the door of our previous home. We were invited inside. My friend and I went inside. We were led into the formal dining room area that I recalled so well. Secretly, I was thankful that she hadn't invited us upstairs.

I really liked the young lady who was now living there. Before my friend and I left, the young lady living there grabbed me by the arm and asked a question. I'm certain you can guess what she asked.

She looked at and asked, "Is this house haunted?" The look on her face was one of a person seeking answers to unexplained events. I couldn't lie to her, so I simply answered, "Yes." She then turned to her mother and stated adamantly, "Mom, See! I told you this house is haunted."

My friend and I took our leave. And that was the very last time I ever set foot inside that house. The house still stands. I often wonder if it's still a rental home or if someone has purchased it. Whoever resides there, I pray that they don't experience anything like the events my family experienced.

A (Haunted) Home Showing I'll Never Forget Paranormal

Key points: I'm a real estate agent. Also, for privacy, I've changed the names of the clients. One of the few haunting type things I've experienced. Anyway...

My clients Jim and Pam had been looking for a home to buy for a while. We'd seen a few houses that were in their price range, but didn't have the features they wanted. So when a home matching their requirements and price point popped up on the market, we were all more than motivated to give it a look and (hopefully) make an offer. We scheduled a showing for 7pm that evening.

I didn't have much going on that day, so I got over there around 6:45pm and, since I still had 15 minutes before the buyers would get there, I decided to do a look through the house (and also turn on lights, as it was getting dark and turning on lights for a showing is always a good idea). When I walk into the house, right away I notice it's fairly nice for the price it's at. Seems to be under-priced by at least $10k if not more, and that gets me excited. I know the buyers are going to want to make an offer, so I just have to make sure there's nothing super awful. As I make my way through the rooms, turning on lights, I come upon an intercom in a hallway next to the kitchen, press it and talk through it to hear that the other receiver is directly below me in the basement. Very cool, as I've only seen intercoms in movies. Then I walk through the door frame into the kitchen. The counters and cupboards look nice but cheap, and then I notice the refrigerator is open. Must have bad suction or someone left it open, I think to myself and go over and shut it. I give it a little tug but it seems sealed pretty well so I figure someone from a previous showing left it open. Even though the refrigerator has nothing in it, still a little rude of the last agent to not do a once over and shut it. As I mull this over, the intercom buzzes and static comes through. I slowly walk into the hallway as it continues and, a few steps away, it cuts out. Hmm, must have electric shortages or something downstairs. I hadn't gone downstairs yet, so I figure I might as well go turn on the light and check to see what's going on with the intercom. The basement doesn't have a switch, just a pull string attached to a light in the middle of the room. The light from outside is coming in through the small windows just enough so that I can see where I'm going, but not much more. Before I can pull the light's string, I hear the intercom buzz back on, but this time it's static through the basement receiver, so the interference is coming from upstairs now. Not really sure what's going on at this point, I turn on the light and run up the stairs. Again the intercom stops as soon as I get close, but something in the kitchen catches my eye. I walk into the kitchen to find that every cupboard, drawer, and the refrigerator (again) is wide open. My heart sinks and the hairs on my neck stand.

At this point the scare was over, but the clients called to let me know they had just arrived (6:55ish, this happened very quickly). I hurriedly slammed everything shut, and tried to act normal for a bit. When I opened the door, Jim asked if I was feeling alright (I assume I was slightly pale - "look like you've just seen a ghost" type appearance). We quickly walked through the house (nothing opened this time), and afterward, when I asked how they felt about the house, they both agreed that something felt off and dark about the house. I told them I sensed that too, but didn't go into detail. Needless to say, we didn't write an offer and I've never gone back. Definitely creeped me out, definitely haunted.

strange goings-on in an old farmhouse Paranormal

First off, I apologize for being long winded, I just tend to be detailed. Second, I want to clarify that this isn't my first rodeo with the paranormal, but my fiancee is definitely more skeptical. Me and my fiancee live on ~50 acres in a 2 bedroom wood frame house. Best guess, the house is around 70 or 80 years old, but no one seems to know for sure because the house was supposedly moved here several decades ago. We've lived here a little over a year, and there's been a few unusual happenings in that time. May as well start at the beginning.. When I first looked at the place, it wasn't exactly my dream home, but it would work for us. I moved in first, last spring. I started a new job literally the same week that I was moving in, so I'd move things in the evenings but there wasn't much unpacking getting done. Basically, there ended up being boxes of stuff piled up in the living room, which I planned on sorting over the weekend. My 2nd or 3rd day there, I get home and find some things moved around. Mind you, I'm exhausted so I thought I was imagining things, but there were some papers and a magazine that were definitely moved around, and the magazine flipped over. I brushed it off as nothing. Something else that I'd noticed early on was that the front room, which was originally the porch, had a weird smell and a heavy feeling in the air. I tried to chalk it up as maybe a dead possum under the floor causing the smell, and the heavy feeling just my imagination. Whatever.. fast forward a few weeks.. My mom comes over to see the new house. She likes the house etc., but then I tell her "hey come check out this front room and tell me what you think". I didn't tell her anything about it. We walk in and close what used to be the front door behind us. I say nothing while we stand there for a minute. The expression on my mom's face changes and she asks if my dog has been in there. Yes, she's been in there, no nothing unusual. Mind you, my mom is slightly religious but not particularly superstitious but she gets a funny feeling. She's tells me to hang up some crosses, get the house blessed, etc. I didn't. Fast forward a few weeks. Besides a few glimpses out the corner of my eye and some creaky floorboards, nothing concrete. Whatever.. my fiancee moves in. I didn't really tell her that there was anything funny going on, things had been quiet anyway. It picked back up a month later. Woke up one morning and found a loaf of bread on the floor in the kitchen. We kept the bread on top of the refrigerator. No, we don't have an inside cat. Don't know how it fell, but I put it back. Went to work and did my thing. Fiancee texts me and asks if the bread was on the floor. Yes, why? Cause it's on the floor again. Oh... later on that afternoon I get a text and a call from her at the same time. Over the phone she says look at the picture, it's of the bread on the floor. She said she was doing dishes and heard something moving. She turned around in time to catch it rolling across the floor.
About 2 nights later, we were laying in bed, watching TV and we heard a loud bang in the kitchen. We went to investigate. Looked around the room, all cabinet doors closed, chairs at their respective positions around the table. I go to the sink, standing there staring out the window, trying to justify what we heard. I look down into the sink and find a single plate, broken in two. Nothing fell on it, and it couldn't have fallen from anywhere. I set it there after supper, rinsed it off, and it was in one piece last I saw it. Around that same time, I noticed that my fiancee's contact case was always left at the edge of the sink. This wouldn't be a problem except we have this tiny little pedestal sink, meaning there's not much real estate. I don't say anything about it though. But after a few nights of this she says "hey thanks for putting my case out every night, that's really sweet". I tell her no, I haven't been putting it out. Strangely enough, "they" only did it once more after that. Another night I went to the take a leak. Didn't turn the light on. Standing there doing my business, clear as day, I hear a loud whisper in my ear. "Hey!" I went to bed without saying anything about it. Besides that distinct stuff, there's been the usual creaks, occasional out the corner of your eye type things. Until the other night. I was working late and texted and asked where I was. Apparently right after that, she heard, clear as day, a man say "hey" and she felt someone poke her in the shoulder. Later that night after I got home we both saw, on separate occasions, streaks of light in the hallway.
It's been quite this weekend, but I've got a feeling it's picking back up again. Any thoughts?

A Ghost in Retail Paranormal

This happened to me about five years ago while I had the “privilege” of working in a men’s suit store while studying at a college in Cardiff, Wales. For anyone who is curious Wales sits just left of England and directly right of Ireland. Cardiff is a nice city, nowhere near as big as England but it has gone through some pretty rapid modernisation of late. They’ve done a great job at keeping their historic architecture but there always seems to be a new Starbucks or Costa Coffee opening up every other week.

Some of the buildings in the city center have shiny new facades that wrap around the ancient structures like a shell. This became more evident to me on my first day at the store. My interview for the job took place bright and early one February morning and I remember how cold I was as I made my way passed the hustle and bustle of early morning commuters. Having been a student for year I wasn’t used to being around so many people this early in the morning. That being said I wasn’t really used to being up in the morning period.

When I arrived a good fifteen minutes before my interview was due to start I was greeted by an immaculate looking man in a pin stripe suit who I quickly recognised to be my new potential boss. His name was Andrew, he was a friendly guy in his mid-fifties, silver grey hair and just looked how you expect a manager of a suit store to look. After greeting me he took me down to the bowels of the building where the staff room was located. We had to make our way down two flights of stairs and through a hallway full of your standard retail fixtures. I remember almost having a heart attack when turning a corner and coming face to face with a naked mannequin just standing there with its hands on its hips defiantly.

“Ah sorry about that, I stripped it yesterday as we needed the garment for another display upstairs, not very modest is he” Andrew said lightly with a chuckle. I laughed too. I felt comfortable before the interview had begun, this guy had a sense of humour.

When we entered the main stock room I was a little blown away. The walls, ceiling and flooring were completely different to upstairs. They weren’t just bricks but old carved bricks. The only thing I can compare it to off the top of my head would be something that resembles catacombs. Big archways hug over head in badly eroded red stone and the tiles beneath our feet were a dark marble.

Andrew, upon seeing my wondering eyes began to speak again. “Ah yes I forget people are usually surprised when they walk in here, I guess I’m used to it “ he opened a wooden door that lead into a posh looking staff room complete with carpeted floor, a polished oak table and a brown leather couch.

“What I found amazing was when I learnt the basement down here as well as the basements in all the neighbouring buildings all look the same, they were once part of a Victorian tunnel you see, that connected every building in the street. Some kind of evacuation tunnel” Andrew finished and indicated for me to take a seat.

Two years later I had finished my course in college and had been asked by Andrew if I wanted a full time position while I figured out what my next step was going to be. Naturally I accepted as I really did love the job and the people I worked with had become like family to me.

Life being the way it was I found myself struggling to find jobs that although I was now qualified for, lacked the “experience in a similar field” it was infuriating, how could I have experience if nobody will give me a break? Another two years after becoming a full time member of staff I was still at the store but I had managed to progress from ‘Part Time Sales Assistant’ to ‘Assistant Manager’ which was great for me as it meant a tasty pay rise and great for Andrew as it meant he could finally take more time off, take vacations and be with his family. I actually really began to enjoy the extra responsibility, training new staff, delegating jobs and helping our team to hit sales targets.

We are now coming to the reason I am writing this. The reason I will never forget that place. It all went down one Sunday Morning. Sunday’s obviously being the quieter days of trade only required a ‘skeleton crew’ to run the Store. This is usually a manager (me) and one other sales assistant (in this case a girl named Amy). I quite liked working with Amy, we were of similar ages, she was cute and really down to earth. Most of our quiet periods were spent talking about everything and anything about our lives until we realised how much time had passed and began creating jobs to do out of guilt.

One Sunday afternoon after a pretty uneventful morning I walked into our office just off the shop floor to email our sales figures to head office while Amy manned the front desk. As we had two sales floors (upstairs was suits and downstairs was accessories / shoes) if someone went downstairs either Amy or myself would have to go with them. One of our rules was that under no circumstances were customers to walk around downstairs unattended. As I began entering figures into a new excel spreadsheet I heard Amy’s faint voice under the store’s collection of non-threatening store music. If my memory serves me correctly I believe it was Nickelback she was quite rudely interrupting.

I reached for the knob of the Hifi and turned down the volume. “…. Want me to go?” Amy called. I poked my head out of the office door.

“Sorry what?”

“An elderly lady just went downstairs would you like me to go down? Or do you want me to watch the shop floor and you go down?”

I looked back at the barely started spreadsheet and then back to Amy.

“Its fine I’ll go, maybe I can sell her a sports jacket and cufflinks” I said with a smile.

“Oh do it!” Amy giggled as I walked passed her.

As I made my way down the steps to the ground floor I was surprised to find that nobody was there. The room looked pristine and untouched. I took a few steps forward and stretched my neck looking along the rows of formal jackets.

“Amy?” I called up stairs. I heard her shuffle along from the till to the doorway.

“Yello?” she asked.

“I thought you said there was a lady down here?” I asked quickly glancing back at the room.

“There is… I watched her go down myself” she said again confidently.

I walked the full length of the room, passed the shoe displays to the changing rooms and back.

“Nope, no one here… are you seeing things?” I asked.

Amy looked both confused and annoyed.

“What? Can I come down?” she asked.

“Yes but quickly”

I watched as she made her way around the room and back.

“What the fuck….” She uttered under her breath while pulling back the curtains of the changing room.

“See just like I said, you’re seeing things”

“I swear to god this is freaky… I literally watched her enter the store at the entrance, the doorbell even chimed, I smiled at her and she just walked down here” Amy finished.

I noticed that colour seemed to be fading from her usually rosy cheeks. Just then I had a sinking feeling.

“What if she’s gone down into the basement?” I asked eyebrows raised. Amy put her hand to her mouth in a “oh fuck” fashion.

“Ugh what if she’s senile or something and just went down there? Did she acknowledge you when you smiled at her?” I questioned.

Amy’s eyes looked upwards in thought before returning to me.

“She didn’t… I thought she was just being rude.”

“Okay, go back upstairs I’ll go find her” I said a little exasperated.

I really wasn’t looking forward to this part of the job. One thing I learned from working in the fabulous world of retail is you often meet people from both sides of the mental health spectrum. My second week working at the store some guy politely used one of our changing rooms to try on a shirt and in doing so took it upon himself to urinate into the small trash can in there. Guess which rookie member of the team has the pleasure of fixing this problem?

As I entered the basement level the first thing to hit me was the void of total darkness. Funny thing about wondering around in the dark, you usually have some sort of natural light so you can at least see your hand in front of your face. But here, deep underground if the lights were off you were pretty much Completely blind.

My hand went to my left and frantically felt for the switch and with a sigh of relief I flicked it back. The florescent tube light bulbs flickered into existence for a few moments before bursting light to all corners of the basement and as my eyes adjusted I quickly scanned around. “Nobody” I said with relief.

The basement stockroom was quiet and untouched and also a complete mess. It was all of our jobs to keep the stockroom tidy but over the weeks of constant deliveries it had become more or less a dumping ground with crates stacked on top of each other. Another reason to not wanting to be wondering around here in the dark.

As I began to turn back to the door while thinking how it was going to be my sad duty to inform one of my colleagues’ that she’s been hallucinating. I distinctly heard the sound of a refrigerator door closing. I quickly turned to the direction of the staff room.

The door was closed but the light from within seeped through the gap under the door. My heart began to race. The old lady was here… she must have somehow navigated her way through the stock room in the dark and was now making herself at home in our staff room, probably attempting to make herself a nice cup of tea perhaps. Without really thinking I marched forward and pushed the door open.

I was greeting with an empty staff room. The bags and coats hung neatly on peg hooks on the far wall, cutlery lay strewn around the draining board and a dirty washrag was lazily dumped on top of them (my bad). I remember thinking that perhaps Amy and I had been coming down with something because now I seemed to be hearing things. Just as the worry began to subside my eyes locked on the small fridge under the counter with its door ajar.

“Hmm” I thought and gently nudged it closed with the tip of my shoe. It was at this moment my blood ran cold.

“Hello?” came a shakily elderly voice from behind me.

It was one of those experiences where you are so afraid that time seems to slow down. I began turning in the direction of the voice extremely slowly, almost as if on some level I wasn’t so eager to lock eyes with whoever was down here. I sighed again. Just the empty doorway.

I decided I wanted to go back upstairs where the sanity seemed to be so I closed the staff room door and made my way back across the stockroom.

Just as my hand gripped the door handle of the fire door total darkness enveloped me. It was so sudden that I couldn’t help but unleash the unmanliest yelps I’ve ever created. My hand instinctively fumbled for the light switch and toggled it on and off to no avail.

The lighting was completely gone. Now retrospectively thinking, a normal person would have opened the door and ran upstairs, saying “ta ta” to this fucked up situation but something caught my eye in the darkness. A light source.

The light was emanating from under the staff room door again. This didn’t sit right with me, a lot down here today didn’t sit right with me. But in regards to the light, I knew how the electricity worked in the building. All lights on the basement level were connected at the fuse box. If one light goes, they all go. I’m by no means an electrical engineer but I knew there was no way that light should be on.

Now call it basic human curiosity or human stupidity but I found myself moving towards the light. Navigating around the crates until my hands were pressed against the wood panelling of the staff room door. I pushed it and to my total bewilderment I was greeting by one horrifying site.

All the cupboards were open now, their doors yanked wide displaying the plates and cups within. Over on the far wall the coats and bags had come away from the wall hooks and lay crumpled on the carpet below in a pile. A newspaper I had got that morning during my morning commute which had been neatly folded on the staff room table was now open and the pages had been pulled out. I remember I almost couldn’t breathe, it was a kind of terror I’ve never experience before or since. I became instantly aware of how … alone I was down here.

“Hello?”

I heard the voice again but this time closer than before. In fact this time it was right behind me. Now I’m not sure if this is a coping mechanism of the human brain but I remember the complete inability to turn around and face the owner of this voice.

I was aware of a presence directly behind me and knew only too well that if I had turned in that moment id have seen something that I’d be describing to a therapist to this day. My body went cold, my hairs on the back of my neck were raised and I became aware of how annoyingly loud my heart beat was beating.

I looked forward and noticed the bottom half of our small cordless telephone poking out from underneath one of the newspaper pages. The phone lets us make external and internal calls around the building.

My hand slowly and shakily reached for it. Still feeling the presence behind me and the unwillingness to turn around I pressed “Int” and “1” and instantly heard the faint sound of a phone ringing above me followed my footsteps moving from one side of the store to the other.

“Yellooo” Amy said amused.

“Amy… can you come down here please” I whispered, my voice very slow and steady.

“….. What’s wrong?” she asked.

“Please just come here now” I said this time with a hint of panic in my voice.

The phone disconnected and I heard the footsteps sprinting across the ceiling above and then silence.

“Hello?”

The voice sounded so frail and gravely now and I swear I could feel it stepping closer. Somehow being down here and going through this had made me ultra-aware in a way that I haven’t been since. Just when I thought I was about to crawl under the table with my arms wrapped around my knees I heard the most amazing sound in the world.

“Hey” Amy said.

I turned around to see a very concerned looking Amy.

“Hey” I whispered.

“Are you okay?”

I nodded slowly.

“I… I just want to go upstairs.” I whispered again.

I felt her arm go around mine and she slowly escorted me out of the basement.

A while after I remember saying to Amy that she was my Hero, that she saved me from quite possibly having a heart attack. She found the story interesting and would often ask me questions on what I think I would have saw if I had turned to face it. But I’m fine not knowing what it looked like.

I sometimes wonder why I had reacted the way I had, why did I feel such intense fear, was it my own insecurity and cowardice? Or had i sensed that I was in danger? Or was the voice even real at all? Perhaps I had simply imagined it? I think it’s doubtful. I mean I didn’t create the mess in the staff room and Amy had seen a women walk downstairs.

I don’t know, but I do know that I’ll always remember this experience. It will be my one unexplainable story, I’m pretty sure everybody has one and this is mine.

It took a while before I was willing to go down to the basement alone and before I even had to get used to it I ended up finding the job of my dreams and so sadly I ended up having to say goodbye to my friends at the store. Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

OTHER: Supernatural events witnessed by Hilda Nassib of Palestine Paranormal

Hilda Nassib was a widow living in Palestine in the early 1960s. She heard of a miracle worker named Dr. Dahesh of Lebanon. She moved to Beirut, to meet him, and eventually became his secretary. Here are her words describing some of the supernatural events that she witnessed:

"1. I saw several miracles soon after I was introduced to Dr. Dahesh. The one miracle that shocked me most took place as follows: He gave me a staff and told me to write my name on it and to draw the Daheshist insignia (i.e., a pentagram) in different positions. After I wrote my name and drew the insignia, he asked me to throw the staff in the air and when it landed in his hand it had transformed, in a split-second, into a picture frame holding the picture of my late husband—a picture that I had never seen before. Dr. Dahesh, who lived in Beirut, never knew my husband, who lived in Jerusalem. Although my husband heard of Dr. Dahesh, he never met him. Dr. Dahesh told me: “Your husband had reincarnated as an adult on another material world and if you desire, I can have your husband re-materialize here on Earth, where you can talk to him face-to-face.” I refused his offer, because I knew I would lose my mind if he had talked to me from beyond the grave. Dr. Dahesh then said to me: “Keep the picture then.”

  1. Once I got to know Dr. Dahesh, I wanted to visit him just about everyday and for the remainder of my stay in Beirut. Every time I entered his house, fellow Daheshists would lead me to a small but cozy room, near the entrance, then either Dr. Dahesh or a fellow Daheshist would lead me through a hallway to the grand living room. That room was so nicely decorated with art masterpieces, water fountains, oriental carpets, figurines, oil paintings, Egyptian curtains, etc.

One day, I was in the grand living room enjoying the décor when certain questions crossed my mind: “ Who cleans his home? Who hangs the paintings so high on the walls of this very high-ceiling room?” These and many other questions were running through my mind silently when suddenly I look around and the entire décor in that room had changed on me from floor to ceiling, with different paintings, carpets, wall colors…I mean everything…I was SO SCARED, so I started to run out of the room when the room décor changed completely again. I stopped at the exit door, trying to rationalize what is happening here, when the décor changed again. I tried to calm myself and to build my courage to see through this. After few more changes in the décor, I saw Dr. Dahesh coming from the adjacent room with a smile on his face. I cannot explain the extent of my happiness to see him. He welcomed me and then I told him what had just happened to me and he answered me saying: “There are many things that take place that I am not aware of their happening, unless I am told by the Holy Spirit, or by the person witnessing them" and that he is very happy that the Holy Spirit had answered my questions.

  1. On another day, I visited Dr. Dahesh, who at the time of my arrival was eating in the kitchen. He told me that one of the six birds in the cage I brought had died and asked me to take it out of the cage and toss it out of the window overlooking the backyard. I said to him: “No way Doctor, I cannot do it!” But he asked me whether I wouldn’t prefer to see the bird alive. So, I opened the cage door with my trembling hands, picked up the stiff bird with a napkin, ran to the window in order to toss it out, but as soon as I opened my hand, it had returned to life and flew out of my hand and landed on a branch of a large tree. Dr. Dahesh had insisted that I do it so that I can witness such a heavenly miracle, where the dead is returned to life.

  2. On another visit, I had my daughter Suzie with me, who at that time was about three years old. My daughter saw the paintings and art masterpieces of birds, butterflies, lions, leopards, etc… and wondered why he doesn’t have cats! Suddenly, Dr. Dahesh stretched his hand into the thin air and grabbed a tiny plastic yellow-colored cat that whistles when squeezed and gave it to Suzie while telling her: “Here, this cat is for you.”

  3. On another occasion, Dr. Dahesh, Suzie, and myself were in the grand living room when Dr. Dahesh said that we should join the others who are seated in the big hallway, where it was set to accommodate many visitors. He was singing to Suzie while walking and she was very happy. Dr. Dahesh was even happier just to see her happy and told her: “Suzie, I want to bring you candy from another world!” So, he placed his two hands on the purple collar of the outfit that I was wearing and collected round-shaped pastel-colored candy, with chocolate filing and delicious flavor. His hands were so full that many pieces of candy dropped on the floor. Others, who were sitting in the hallway, jumped in and assisted in picking up the candy.

  4. After I had left my job in Saudi Arabia, I lived in Beirut for a while and then moved to the United States. I then returned back to Beirut and assisted Dr. Dahesh in importing art objects, paintings, masterpieces, jewelry, and many other items to add to his collection. He was curious as to what is available in the world from the East, Far East, Europe, and the United States. We received catalogs from all over the world. One day after the mail had come, he was looking through the catalogs that he had just received from Germany, France, and Italy, while singing to Suzie. I heard him singing with words like “I love you so much, you are a special and pretty girl, and I want to get you something nice.” He then drew a star on a photo in one of the catalogs of a very expensive ring with diamonds and an amethyst stone and immediately the ring had materialized out of the German catalog leaving a hole in its place. I screamed in astonishment and touched it to examine it and to admire its beauty. I asked Dr. Dahesh if we could keep the ring, he looked at Suzie and said: “I cannot give you the ring now, however, I will give it to you in the distant future in another reincarnation.”

  5. A similar miracle had happened to me once, but in a different period. While flipping through the pages of a Chinese catalog of beautiful butterflies, a butterfly came to life out of the catalog and then returned back to it. Dr. Dahesh wrote on the picture of the butterfly in Arabic “Hilda the butterfly” and gave it to me. I still have that beautiful butterfly picture with my name written on it with his handwriting.

  6. During the period where I was assisting Dr. Dahesh, Ramzi, my son, who was at that time six or seven years old, came to me saying: “Mommy… Mommy,” with a trembling voice, fast heart beat, and scared, “I saw three Dr. Dahesh…I saw three Dr. Dahesh.” I found out later that he saw three of Dr. Dahesh’s Personalities, one next to the other wearing different clothing. This miracle had happened with me on more than one occasion. One day, while Dr. Dahesh, Zeina Haddad, and myself were sitting in the hallway talking, Dr. Dahesh asked Zeina if she had ice cream for me. While having ice cream, I almost choked when I saw five Personalities of Dr. Dahesh appear in a matter of seconds and spread throughout the hallway. I found out later that the one that was sitting next to me, who ordered the ice cream, was Personality #6. Another Personality next to the door leading to the bedrooms; one at the door leading to the kitchen, etc…they were all looking at me and smiling without saying a word—except for Personality #6. I was even more amazed to realize that Personality #6 was with me all the time, while Dr. Dahesh was sleeping in his bedroom and disappeared when he was awakened. Dr. Dahesh had a fever and was not feeling well. You can tell from his eyes and face that he was in a deep sleep. I showed him the spots where the Personalities were standing and was amazed by the place Personality #4 was standing, because It was in a very tight opening by the entrance door and the big refrigerator. After examining the area, it was impossible for anybody—not even a child—to stand were It was standing. It broke through the wall from one side and the refrigerator from the other. It was the One that looked at me from afar and would hide Its head for few seconds and then look at me and smile.

  7. As I mentioned earlier, in the early 1970’s, I worked for a while in the United States for an embassy. On a very busy day, I heard a knock on the door of my office, so I said: “come in.” The door opened and Dr. Dahesh entered. I was very surprised to see him and we talked for about an hour. After that, Dr. Dahesh said to me that he had come to visit me and that I shouldn’t bother escorting him out, however, it felt odd that I would let him leave without escorting him out, so I ran after him down the stairs to the reception area, but I couldn’t see him anywhere, so I asked the receptionist if she had seen anyone coming down the stairs and she said no. I was very suspicious of his visit, in particular because no one could see any embassy official without being identified or having prior permission; so I picked up the phone and called the home of Dr. Dahesh in Beirut and to my surprise, Dr. Dahesh was there. I talked to him about what just happened to me and I learned from him that it was Personality #6 that visited me.

  8. In 1975, at the beginning of the Lebanese civil war, I left Lebanon to the United States with my children and been here ever since. Between 1976 and 1984, Dr. Dahesh had visited us in Virginia several times and his visits sometimes would last several days. On June 17, 1977, he visited us accompanied by Zeina Hadad. During the late afternoon hours, Dr. Dahesh, Zeina, and I were sitting alone, when Dr. Dahesh said: “Do you wish to know how God’s wrath is administered on Earth?” Zeina answered him with a “yes.” He said, “I see the angel of the Lord descending from Heaven to administer His wrath and holding a sword of fire.” In a matter of seconds, the sunny skies had changed to dark skies, strong winds had gusted and we had a downpour of rain with hale. My apartment was on the 25th floor of a very nice luxury building with big windows and large balconies. Despite the tight structure of the building, the rain was so heavy that water started to seep into my apartment through the balcony door and through the windows in a very scary way. I started to mop the water and couldn’t keep up, so I gave up. The hail was like golf balls and was hitting the glass fiercely. Dr. Dahesh looked at me and said: “Neither heights nor water-tight windows and doors will help when God administers His wrath.” We prayed and pleaded with Dr. Dahesh to stop the storm and he did.

  9. On another occasion, while Dr. Dahesh was visiting us for several days, he called a Daheshist sister in the State of Connecticut. During their conversation, he asked her to come down to Virginia, so she accepted his invitation and flew down. After she had arrived, Dr. Dahesh said to me: “I need to make a phone call.” I was surprised from his question, because he knows he is welcome to use anything in my home and it was common for him to pick up the phone whenever he needed to use it. I guess I didn’t understand his question, so I said to him: “Are you asking me to make the call for you.” He said: “No! I need to make a call from the lower lobby of the building by the elevators.” There was a pay phone there and I was puzzled, nonetheless, I said to him, fine, let’s go. So, we went down to the lower lobby, where we had a convenience store, a dental clinic, a hair salon, and other small shops. I asked him to give me the number he wishes to dial so that I’ll dial it for him, however, at that moment, I saw the side door open and a beautiful young blond woman accompanied by a tall and handsome blond gentleman come through. They were looking directly at Dr. Dahesh with a smile on their face and then I saw them nod, they turned left and started to walk towards the garage. I was surprised from their behavior, so I said to Dr. Dahesh: “They seem to know you!”

Dr. Dahesh replied: “Yes, they know me. They have descended from another world to see if I needed help.” I can see them walking through the long hallway, and as soon as I heard what Dr. Dahesh had said, I ran after them, but suddenly, they vanished into thin air in front of my eyes. After that, we went up to my apartment and informed the visiting Daheshist sister with what had happened. Later on, I understood that the purpose of the materialization was the refusal of a Daheshist to help Dr. Dahesh with something. Although the refusal was only in the thoughts of this individual, the materialization took place to show that individual that entities from other worlds can always descend to help him.

These were only a few of the miracles that I had witnessed myself during a period of 15 years with Dr. Dahesh. All I can say that he had a very positive influence on my life and I cannot repay him enough for all that he did for me. Can I repay Christ, my Redeemer?" (Excerpt from THE BOOK OF TESTIMONIES)

Sharing the Various Reported and Witnessed Experiences I've Encountered Paranormal

I've been wanting to share all of this here for awhile to get people's opinions and have finally found the time to do so. This will be a lengthy post because I've had my fair share of paranormal experiences and stories shared by people in my family. I'd love to know what everyone here thinks of them.

First, I'm going to tell you about my deceased grandmother visiting her grandchildren (including me). Now, my maternal grandmother passed away before I was even born. I never met her (in physical form). I have two younger brothers, the youngest being 12 years younger than me. He is a half-brother, technically, as we have different fathers since both of my parents got remarried after getting divorced. One day, my mother was in the kitchen with him and preparing supper at the counter while he played on the floor and was about 4 or 5 years old. No one else was home, as my step-dad was working and myself and other brother were on our way home on the school bus.

While my mother is chopping stuff on the counter, my brother randomly out of nowhere asks her why there is a picture of "Nana" on the refrigerator. Now, like I said, my mother's mom passed away before I was even born. "Nana" was what my older cousins referred to her as when she was alive. My youngest brother had 1 living grandparent, my step-dad's mother, and he referred to her as "Grandmom." She also looked nothing like my mother's mom. Thus, "Nana" was barely ever mentioned to my brother before, if at all. On the side of the refrigerator my mother keeps a sort of mini memorial with pictures of people who passed, funeral cards, etc. There is a black and white picture of her parents when they were somewhere in their 30's I'd guess. Surprised by my brother's question, my mom asked him to show her the picture of "Nana." Yup, he points right to her mother in that picture. Next, she asked him how he knew who Nana was. His response? "She talks to me before I go to sleep sometimes."

Now, my mother only ever told my brother and I about this afterward. She didn't want to upset her siblings or get their hopes up by telling them. This prompted my mother to get into going to see mediums and stuff like that, which she has been doing off and on for years since. Fast forward about 10 years to a couple Christmas Eve's ago. My mother and I are hanging out with 2 of my aunts (her sisters) and a great aunt (Nana's sister) at my uncle's house where we always celebrate Christmas Eve and having some drinks. For some reason, people start telling ghost stories. So, I asked my mom if I could tell them this one about my baby brother and Nana visiting him. So, I do. One of my aunt's ends up telling us how she never told any one this but it also happened to me when I was younger. She used to live in the house they all grew up in and when I was a kid we used to do a Sunday dinner over there every week. She said one time she had called everyone into the kitchen to come eat but everyone came but me so she went looking for me. She said at the bottom of the stairs she could hear me upstairs talking. So she came up and found me sitting on her bed in what used to be my grandparent's bedroom. She asked me who I was talking to and I pointed to a picture of my Nana on the dresser. I have no recollection of this whatsoever.

My father had been struggling with health for 8 years following kidney failure as a result of not taking the best care of himself as a juvenile diabetic. He had a transplant and that is what gave him the 8 more years he had before passing away from multiple organ failure very young at 44 years old. He was sent home on hospice on a Saturday and told he had 3 weeks to live. That night, while we were all hanging out after dinner he promised my stepmother that if he could give her a sign that he is there after passing he would. The next morning, my father passed away while he was alone with me in a CVS parking lot. I'll spare the details of his death as it is the most traumatic experience I've ever gone through. However, I had to drive his lifeless body back to the house since we were told to not call 911 if anything happened because he was a DNR so they wouldn't be able to do anything for him anyway. When I got back to the house, my brother helped me carry him into the house and put him in the hospice bed. My stepmother sat next to him and cried the entire time until the hospice nurse came to take his vitals and officially pronounce him dead. After awhile of her crying over his body, my stepmother exited the living room where his hospice bed was setup and walked into the kitchen. The second she did, the landline telephone on the wall in the kitchen rang. The caller ID read 000-000-0000. She let it ring a few times, suspicious of the caller ID but then answered. Nothing but quiet static on the other end. The same thing happened later after family arrived to come see him before the funeral director picked up his body. (We had a cookout planned where he was going to say his goodbyes to everyone and everyone was already on their way from out of state when this all went down). Although, I cannot remember who answered the phone that time.

That night, I had a dream that I was sitting at a table in the backroom of a public library with my brother and stepmother. We were sitting in silence and a door opened. In walked my dad looking as he had when he was healthier in life. He sat down at the table and we began questioning how he was here since he had died today. He told us he was there to just let us know he was okay and that we don't need him any more.

After his memorial services, I was back at my college apartment, alone for two weeks until my roommates finished their summer internships. My first night back, I had my second and last experience of sleep paralysis of my life. Only this time, while consciously awake I could feel somebody's weight as they first sat and then laid on the bed next to me. As I struggled to look around to see what had put their arms around me, I noticed it looked just like my father laying in bed with me. I freaked, forced myself to wake up and that was that for me.

That same week, my stepmother returned to work and had to use my dad's car instead of her regular commuter car because there was something wrong with it. It was the same car I had driven him home in when he died. As she pulled into the driveway after work, the car's radio turned on by itself and the volume went from low to maximum right away, scaring the crap out of her. She took that as another sign of him letting her know he was there.

About a year later, she called me, a little freaked out and saying she felt she had to tell me about this right away because of the stuff I had experienced since he passed. She was in the house alone and her iPod randomly started playing "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations while it was docked on her nightstand in the bedroom. This was their song. When she went to go look at the iPod, instead of the title of the song scrolling across the screen, it read "Missing You."

This is all I've got with the exception of my brother telling me now and then my dad still visits him in dreams. But this, along with research I've done into what kind of evidence exists from studying Near Death Experience and things of that nature have all been enough to convince me there is a good chance there's more beyond this world and our physical death in this dimension of reality.
