Hi everyone, the white refrigerator in our kitchen has handles that have terribly yellowed and browned over the years. My mother has tried cleaning them repeatedly in the past to no avail, and I would not be surprised if she's caused further damage in the process. Anyway, I would like to restore the door handles for her if possible or to purchase new ones if needed.
I've looked this up in the past, and I saw a lot of suggestions for various paints that can be used on plastics, but the problem is that these handles are not plastic. The best I can describe them is like a hard foam. I feel like putting paint onto this material would be a major mistake, but of course if there's someone more knowledgeable out there, I'd be more than willing to take any advice.
I don't have the refrigerator's model off hand. The refrigerator came with the house when we purchased it over a decade ago, so the manual is long gone, and I couldn't find a model number anywhere inside. I assume that it may be printed on the back, but until my brother gets home later to help me move the fridge, I can't get it.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be so highly appreciative. Thanks!
