I live in a funky little suburban city in the Miami metropolitan area and last night my very close frient and I wandered around downtown after we both achieved a strong [9] by the beach. It was a pretty bumpin' Friday evening, and as we walked up and down the streets past all the interesting boutiques and restaurants, people were smiling at us and being a little more friendly than we're used to.
"Oh shit," I thought, "everyone can tell we're high; what if we get stopped by police?" I did my best to stay calm by suggesting to my pal that we hop in one of the surrounding places to grab a bite and distract ourselves from the paranoia.
So, we rode our space ships into this little pizzeria and spent a little while trying to make a selection from the menu. After a couple of minutes passed by, I noticed two of the young ladies working there standing to the side and giggling with one another as they glanced at us. They also knew.
As I approached the counter to make an order, the employees seemed eager to serve me. They had big grins on their faces and worked quickly. The cashier wasn't at all upset that I changed my mind about the beverage I wanted after she had already retrieved my original choice from the refrigerator.
While we were waiting for our order, one of the other (very attractive) patrons noticed the name of my school on my soccer shirt and told me that she had a younger cousin who attended the same school. We chatted briefly but enthusiastically about the school (we're pretty strong in athletics) and when we parted ways, she told us to "have fun and be careful" with an empathetic smirk.
I guess what I mainly want to say is that cannabis not only helped me have a wonderful time, but it brightened up the night for others. I really felt good about that for the rest of the night. I'm lucky to live in a fairly liberal city where people don't freak out at the sight of a couple of stoned kids. Thanks again, trees; it seems as though whenever we spend time together, something good happens.
