Over the last few years I have observed that the size of eggs sold in India has become smaller and smaller.
Just a decade back, egg would sit on the egg tray of the refrigerator without sliding thru. Now, it seem most of the eggs slide thru the egg tray! All this while the cost of the eggs have gone up from 2 Rs to 4.5 Rs.
Considering the fact that eggs are sold by number and not weight, it would make sense to classify the eggs into small, medium and large categories (or small and large categories) and price them accordingly.
Right now it seems like a con job to charge 4.5 Rs for every egg irrespective of their size.
