TIFU by dropping a bottle of Vodka straight down a flight of stairs. tifu

This happened tonight and I am still kicking myself for doing it.

My gf asked me to go grab a bottle of Vodka so we could have a few drinks after work. I had the bottle sitting on her desk upstairs and when she came home I was pretending I didn't buy anything other than beer. The gf went looking in the refrigerator and saw I had a few beers and started laughing and saying I was screwing with her etc. "Why would you only buy yourself beer?.. Yeah Right!"

I started walking up the stairs saying "No man, I really didn't get it... I thought you were joking!, Just have the beer."

Here is where I fucked up... :(

I grabbed the bottle off of her desk, rounded the corner and proceeded to drop the bottle onto the top step. Now this bottle was made of plastic and thankfully not of glass, that would have just been total and complete failure.

The bottle goes flying down the stairs, cartwheeling from step to step, bouncing off of the wall and with one final bounce it spun into the air and smashed cap down onto the floor.

CRACK!!! the cap goes flying across the room and the bottle was hastily emptying its contents all over my sneakers, the wall and the front door.

"RUN!, GET IT!!!!" I screamed as my girlfriend practically dove face first to grab the now half drained bottle.

We both looked at each other and were like OMFG!? Half a bottle of this awesome vodka was now on the floor. "Well... how awesome could a bottle of vodka that comes in a plastic bottle really be.." :p

Thank god I had some beer in the fridge as the liquor store was closed.

The worst part is we were watching a show afterwards and a guy was pouring vodka drinks for his friends and going on about how big the bottle was! FML.

My TIFU? "A severe and irreversible case of alcohol abuse!"
