We were at my mom's house (their Nana's) and my mom's refrigerator is covered in photos of family. My son (4) picks a photo off the fridge and asks who it is. It's my mom's mom that died before they were born. My son asked my mom what we call her, and my mom said, "well, I guess you would have called her Nana Kathy."
"Do you miss her?"
"Well, yes I do, but she visits me in dreams sometimes. So I get to see her still."
"The next time she visits you, tell her that I love her too."
I teared up pretty good today.
